Nod.E Posted 24 July 2007 Posted 24 July 2007 3 or 4 new signings? Exciting stuff! I think we should go down the lines of possibly Andy Robinson, Theo Jansenn, and any other good players that i can't be frigged with looking for.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 24 July 2007 Posted 24 July 2007 MM is on Radio Leicester tomorrow morning. They interviewed him today. He said that he wasn't after Izale McLeod at this moment and did confirm another name that my source couldn't remember!! Listen out, I think on the morning show maybe.

So frustrating, you've told us Mandaric has mentioned a player we are interested in? But you don't know the name?
Maybes Posted 24 July 2007 Posted 24 July 2007 We have too many Gk`s already and I dont think we will sign another.I think the main target must be another striker, especially with the news that Cort has done his hamstring. I would say the main target should be a decent left back. As we only have mattock and sheehan.
Geo V Posted 24 July 2007 Author Posted 24 July 2007 I would say the main target should be a decent left back. As we only have mattock and sheehan. Two natural LB`s is OK, especially when we still have players like Maybury, Kenton and Chambers on the books who can fill that void if we are struggling. I know its still early days for Mattock and people like me may be expecting far too much for the lad but he seems to have something about him and in a side that will be brimming with experienced players like Kisha, Clem and N`Gotty, I think he will thrive. Goalscorers win matches and its really important we get one more quality striker to compete with what we have IMO.

You're correct to say goalscorers win matches but most truly successful sides start with a solid defence. Two inexperienced kids with a lot to learn are simply not going to be good enough to get us to where we want to be. Of the others you mention Maybury is unlikely to feature much if at all, kenton can only really play at right back and chambers simply doesn't look that good to me and certainly not at left back. Also centre half is not necessarly settled yet. we really only have 3 of whom kisnorbo is completely overated and the other two lack pace. a striker would be good but most options we could get seem to have been bought by other clubs. Imo I can't see our strike force scoring the required number of goals to fire us to the playoffs. If we can sign more players then they will have to be better than we already have otherwise I can't see a finish much higher than 12th. The question also remains if we do sign them whose signings will they be. I suspect certain players signing had little to do with the manager.
Simon Posted 24 July 2007 Posted 24 July 2007 Also centre half is not necessarly settled yet. we really only have 3 of whom kisnorbo is completely overated and the other two lack pace. 4. I'd count Stearman now- that gives us Kisnorbo, McAuley, Stearman and N'Gotty.
Thracian Posted 24 July 2007 Posted 24 July 2007 I would say the main target should be a decent left back. As we only have mattock and sheehan. Well, "only" Mattock and Sheehan have done well enough so far not only defensively but by offering far more support in attack than our left-backs did last season. We also have a third player who can play like that in Ryan Beswick who, although even more inexperienced at first team level, is nevertheless a reliable and accomplished footballer. The club might move if there's a quality left back available but I'm not convinced it is easy for us to find better out there or even that City particularly want Mattock replaced as first choice.
Stevosevic Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 What did Mandaric say on the radio then? Or hasn't he been on yet?
