Stevosevic Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/6915778.stm Two former England footballers have been arrested in connection with the taking of a limousine. Rob Lee, 38, and Warren Barton, 41, were held after the Mercedes E220 saloon was taken from Hackney Road, east London, on Tuesday night. The car later collided with a van and was abandoned. The ex-Newcastle United stars were later arrested at two addresses. They were taken to an east London police station for questioning. They are being held over allegations of taking a vehicle and driving while unfit. Lee, from West Ham, east London, was a player at Newcastle United for 10 years and was capped for his country 21 times. Barton, born in Stoke Newington, played for the Magpies between 1995 and 2002, and played for England three times.
Bojimha Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 surely they have enough money left from the newcastle days to afford a taxi home? If not why did they not realise they are skint has been footballers and attempt to rob something a little less glamorous and easier like a 1980's fiesta!

The People's Hero Posted 25 July 2007 Posted 25 July 2007 They were pis sed up, we've all done stupid things when drunk. Footballers do everything on a more extreme scale. That said, I'm now considering stealing a limo next time I'm out. But not crashing it.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 July 2007 Posted 26 July 2007 And what is the link between LCFC, Paul Kitson and Maidstone United? No idea, we bought Paul Kitson from Maidstone United? Warren Barton, Roy Hodgson, Gary Breen. Im through. They folded when i was about 7
Geo V Posted 26 July 2007 Posted 26 July 2007 Pair of tossers. They have got to be amongst the worst co-commentators on footy, especially Barton.
Ric Flair Posted 27 July 2007 Posted 27 July 2007 And what is the link between LCFC, Paul Kitson and Maidstone United? No idea, we bought Paul Kitson from Maidstone United? Warren Barton, Roy Hodgson, Gary Breen. Im through. They folded when i was about 7 The link between the 3 is that Paul Kitson scored twice against Maidstone in the League Cup in 1991. One of those goals being somewhat of a scorcher.
