foxin_oz Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 Nope. Jamie (defender), not Joe (alleged midfielder). Joe now plys his trade for Livingston - for whom he's scored one goal in about 38 appearances (29 starts). Hmmm... Nish... that wouldn't be the ex Leicester City Nish would it.....?
foxin_oz Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 Hmmm... Nish... that wouldn't be the ex Leicester City Nish would it.....? Mattock's quite young but a lot of people think he's pretty good at left back... i'm in Oz so I've never seen him... is he good enough to play in the championship every week..??? I'd like to hear opinions on this...???
Geo V Posted 28 July 2007 Author Posted 28 July 2007 Hmmm... Nish... that wouldn't be the ex Leicester City Nish would it.....? Spot on. They have Robbie Fowler, David O`Leary. a principality playing for them, ex-Wimbledon striker Terry Gibson, boxer David Hay, anti-English tennis dickhead Andy Murray, ex US president Ford and Mo Johnston all playing. They will take some beating!!
Thracian Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 I wish we'd sign a leftback... left winger would be good as well. I think we'd be complete then. Team looks good otherwise. Exactly what have our left-backs done wrong? The only time I thought we looked iffy in that position was when James Chambers played there and I did wonder why he appears to be starting there again, rather than Mattock/Sheehan who've looked fine. Is it because MA knows that Chambers is usually good in that position or because the boss is determined to find a place for him anyway. Don't mistake me. Chambers looked excellent at right-back. But I've seen enough of makeshift left-backs this last two seasons.

Well I'd rather we bought a leftback than played Chambers there... if we're going to play Mattock and Sheehan there fair enough.
Stevosevic Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 We're losing 1-0 already Are you using the Ladbrokes score center to check the score?
Simi Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 We're losing 1-0 already Interesting. This could be the first time Allen is tested properly.
Tabou Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 Yes, Ladbrokes live scoring says its 1-0 to Killie. Plenty of time to put 6 past them
Joe. Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 I'm not a fan either of Chambers playing left back. He's played brilliantly at right back so far and I really hope he plays there in the Championship this season I'd much rather have him there and Mattock at left back.

foxin_oz Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 Interesting. This could be the first time Allen is tested properly. Better to lose to Killie than win all our pre-season games and get thrashed by Blackpool cos we were over confident... still... i'm hoping we can win this one....
Stevosevic Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 I think a defeat in pre-season can be healthy. I dont remember us having an amazing pre-season under Martin O'Neill, however under Rob kelly and Craig Levein we kept winning. I don't think you can read too much into the results of pre-season.

Apart from the 5-1 (I think) thrashing we got in Sweden last season. Hammerby was it? :pinch:
Thracian Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 I still can't believe there's no coverage from Radio Leicester.

Joe. Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 I thought that was us doing the battering on that tour Someone must know? No we definitely got hammered. Oh and Derby are losing to Mansfield too
Stevosevic Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 How many do you reckon MA's planning to lose by then? Just by one goal today, then he would like a heavy defeat against Portsmouth, three or four nil so that he can test his hairdryer treatment on the new side.

I can't believe this... it's nearly one in the morning here... and i'm staring at this stupid screen waiting to hear news from Kilmarnock and watching a rerun of seinfeld...
Thracian Posted 28 July 2007 Posted 28 July 2007 Look on the bright side, Leeds are losing too I wonder how many times that sentence will be written this season - assuming they play at all!
