Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 You do realise if we win tonight it will be vindication of Logan, Sheehan, King, Odhiambo and 4-3-3.
Flynny Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Ooh, 4-3-3. Could be fun.Be interesting to see how King does. You do realise if we win tonight it will be vindication of Logan, Sheehan, King, Odhiambo and 4-3-3. It's 4-2-4! Porter plays as a forward!
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Someone's dream (4-3-3 and King) to shatter by tonight No chance pal, we're playing Cambridge, Cambridge are shit, we will beat Cambridge, 4-3-3 and Andy King will clearly be the way forward, as demonstrated in the 5-0 win over Cambridge. It will no doubt be this seasons equivelent of Hinckley.
Jimmy Posted 6 August 2007 Author Posted 6 August 2007 except it will be 4-4-2 with 1 of the 3 strikers on the wing as has been the case in all other friendlies
BartonFox Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 You do realise if we win tonight it will be vindication of Logan, Sheehan, King, Odhiambo and 4-3-3. Also Hughesie and Maybury
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Levi can't even get in this team. I suppose it's because he had a few minutes on Saturday. Shame. He's integral to the success of 4-3-3.
The People's Hero Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 You do realise if we win tonight it will be vindication of Logan, Sheehan, King, Odhiambo and 4-3-3. I think evil, unfit, obstinate, disruptive, fat, useless Matty Fryatt might ruin it all though.
MBK Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Leo To Face Leicester Posted on: Mon 06 Aug 2007 Veteran striker Leo Fortune-West will start against Leicester City in tonight's game. The 36-year-old was released from Rushden & Diamonds last Friday by mutual consent and attracted immediate interest from several clubs, but he trained with the U's squad this morning and will continue his trial against Leicester City this evening (7.45pm). A vastly-experienced 6ft 4ins centre forward, who has cost four clubs a combined total of £400,000 in fees during his 13-year career, Fortune-West includes Rotherham, Brentford, Lincoln, Leyton Orient, Gillingham and Cardiff among the teams he has played for. He joined Rushden last summer after being released by Doncaster Rovers, where he spent three years and scored 19 times, enjoying promotion to League One. However his opportunities were limited at Rushden and he spent the second half of last season on loan at Shrewsbury, scoring seven goals in ten starts and nine appearances from the bench, including their League Two play-off campaign. Article continues Advertisement "He looked decent in training this morning and he'll play tonight and we'll see from there," confirmed Quinn. "He's 36 now but he's won three or four promotions, he did well in League Two for Shrewsbury last season, and he knows the business and what is needed." Meanwhile Quinn is hopeful that Lee Boylan will be available to play at York on Saturday. The in-form striker dislocated his shoulder at Bedford on Saturday but the joint is responding well to treatment and Quinn commented cautiously, "He should be OK for Saturday." Tonight's friendly against Leicester City sees Quinn welcome his former West Ham team-mate Martin Allen to the Abbey Stadium with his Championship side. "Martin and I roomed together when we both played for West Ham and he's done very well. He's very knowledgeable on football matters and I speak to him from time to time, and I'm sure if I need a bit of help getting players in from time to time he'll help us out if he can," the U's boss told cambridgeunited.com "It's a good game for us and it's the last one before the start of the season. We've done pretty well against Plymouth and Colchester, and this is a slightly different challenge from the point of view that Martin has signed a lot of decent players and Leicester City will be looking to be one of the front runners this season. "I'm quite sure, given the way Martin works, that that's exactly what he'll be aiming to do with Mr Mandaric as Chairman, so it will be interesting pitting our wits against a decent Championship side." Danny Potter is due to return in goal after a scan on a thigh injury, and captain Danny Brown also returns after being with his wife on Saturday when she gave birth to their baby. Cambridge OS
Jimmy Posted 6 August 2007 Author Posted 6 August 2007 Levi can't even get in this team. I suppose it's because he had a few minutes on Saturday. Shame. He's integral to the success of 4-3-3. i'll save thrac the post that is very much a reserve team so obviously levi isn't involved as he is key to our success this season or words to that effect
The People's Hero Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Levi can't even get in this team He's unavailable. Out for a hot date with either Chas or Dave tonight.
MBK Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 There is no point in the above post. Erm not Mr Pablo. I respect the old.
The People's Hero Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 There is no point in the above post. Erm not Mr Pablo. I respect the old. Are you spoiling for an argument?
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 There is no point in the above post. Erm not Mr Pablo. I respect the old. Leo is a legend, he's shit, always has been shit, is now old as well, and somehow still manages to get a proffesional club at the age of 36, fantastic. I think he is spoiling for an arguement but I'm not sure who with
Simi Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 No Kaebi or Gradel. I would think that this pretty much rules him out of Saturday.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 I would think that this pretty much rules him out of Saturday. At least it suggests Allen isn't the sort of manager who will risk an unfit player like Kelly did in virtually every other game last season.
