lookwhaticando Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 MySpace is a bag of knackers. I deleted my account, check out that for an edgy action. Me too. Get us! I used to believe the same thing until I finished uni, I tried to avoid the things as much as possible. Now my friends are spread far and wide so facebook is a good tool to keep in regular contact with them. Facebook has allowed me to regain contact with a person I lost contact with in late 1998 when I moved further south. I've also found a former classmate who I haven't really spoken to since primary school back in 1995. I'm also finding a lot of former classmates/friends from my secondary school in Daventry... those people I found it difficult to keep in touch with when I moved 3,400 miles across a fecking ocean. I couldn't find anyone on MySpace, no matter how hard I tried. It seems that with MySpace, you have to know the persons profile before you can find/add them... if you actually try to search, you've no chance. Besides... as has been said many times before, MySpace is dominated by 12 year olds... and dirty old people in their 50s hoping to befriend said 12 year olds. Facebook was much neater, much more organized, much less annoying... although I must say the edge was lost somewhat when these stupid fecking 'application' things started to spread so rampantly. The next bastard that tries to start a food fight with me, or wants me to chew on a zombie is going to get a smack.
lildave3 Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 The next bastard that tries to start a food fight with me, or wants me to chew on a zombie is going to get a smack. Someone do it. Now!

Now my friends are spread far and wide so facebook is a good tool to keep in regular contact with them. i agree, facebook is a much more practical tool and has a lot more useful features, and you know when people are doing something - having said that it is being systematically ruined by people inviting you to have a hug or some other such crap application. also people do tend to be friends with you even tho you hardly know them just to have lots of friends, mind you most of the people i knew at school are too old for it, whilst i am hip to the young trends and have a lovely young missus, thank you very much my space is ok to put music on, except you can't put on enough and the counters don't work - my space is 1st generation interaction and as such pretty much obsolete: but incase you care.... www.mysapce.com/greatcentralmusic - but for music i now use http://www.iacmusic.com/artist.aspx?id=59199 never heard of bebo...
lookwhaticando Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 This needs a poll. Vote away, plebs, countrymen and fellow FoxesTalkers. First question is which sites do you have an account on? (Check as many as you have) The second is which do you prefer... hence no multiple-choice. So don't give me this crap about the poll being confusing.

You ruined my pefectly good discussion!
lookwhaticando Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Why?Not another poll please! You ruined my pefectly good discussion! Like fook I have. I've enhanced the discussion with some hardcore polling. All good discussions about This vs. That have polls.

Exactly, facebook is bringing me back in touch with a lot of my old friends in Leicester whilst keeping me in touch with friends in universities and jobs across the UK. Its also a great way to build new friendships with peeps you meet fleetingly at uni.
Micky Ruddle Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Can never quite get the hang of myspace to be honest. Whereas Bebo, is pretty much easy to use.

Guest Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 I have a My Space account, and only the one friend. I don't even know him, why on earth would he want to be my friend? I want to be the only person to have no friends whatsoever. I don't even know what I'm supposed to do with My Space, let alone start with Facebook!
MC Prussian Posted 9 August 2007 Posted 9 August 2007 Have accounts on both, but prefer Facebook. It's more organized, looks neater and doesn't have this filthy, SPAM-infested touch to it. Thinking about deleting my MySpace account. The only reason why I'm still checking it out occasionally is because of the music page. I listen to some new and older tracks every once in a while.
lookwhaticando Posted 10 August 2007 Posted 10 August 2007 I don't even know what I'm supposed to do with My Space Prey on small children and badger dirty old paedophiles. You could attempt to find some "friends" but it'll be a long drawn out and painful experience... much like giving birth, but without the fun part to kick things off.

Not to mention all those oh so hot and horny little Chinese girls that want to add anybody only slightly resembling a male specimen of the human kind. There's an easier way to solve that problem. It's called Legal Immigration.
MPH Posted 10 August 2007 Posted 10 August 2007 is there a foxestalk community/club group thing on facebook?
General Smuts Posted 10 August 2007 Author Posted 10 August 2007 is there a foxestalk community/club group thing on facebook? Yeah just search for foxestalk in the groups application.
Simon Posted 10 August 2007 Posted 10 August 2007 Yeah I much prefer Facebook. Myspace is just full of spam and crap, so generally I only use it for listening to new music. Facebook enables me to keep in contact with friends who live the entire span of the country (for instance I don't live in the place I went to school at anymore) easily. Although, as LWICD said, the application platform is getting a bit annoying.
Dames Posted 10 August 2007 Posted 10 August 2007 Myspace. Its easier to edit your page and make a cooler looking one and such.
General Smuts Posted 10 August 2007 Author Posted 10 August 2007 Still think you should get rid of the poll *sulks*
lildave3 Posted 10 August 2007 Posted 10 August 2007 Myspace. Its easier to edit your page and make a cooler looking one and such. Myspace all way. That's more like it.
lookwhaticando Posted 11 August 2007 Posted 11 August 2007 Still think you should get rid of the poll*sulks* I disagree. It's going rather well, I reckon. 43 votes and counting.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 11 August 2007 Posted 11 August 2007 Myspace is fine if you want to knock together some bad HTML and show people how cool/retarded you are. Alternatively you could actually keep in contact with people on Facebook that extends beyond posting the occasional "ZOMG nEw PIcS CoMmenTz PLZ!!!!eleven!!2@"
Alexikokopops Posted 12 August 2007 Posted 12 August 2007 Tbh I can't see the point of either. Facebook makes keeping in touch with friends so much easier. And it makes it so much easier to organise parties and events and everything. And it makes it so much easier to share photos with other people. And it makes it so much easier to procrastinate. Just some points to it
