The People's Hero Posted 16 August 2007 Author Posted 16 August 2007 Here she is boys, read it and weep. Anyone can appear creative and play as a playmaker from the middle when there is another movement in front of them and enough options down the flanks. I hate to say it, but I agree with Thracian in terms of the importance of having energetic and mobile flank players (reluctant to use the term 'wingers' as I don't think any teams really play with genuine wingers now) and hardworking full backs who will be available to take the ball. In a 4-4-2, the central midfielders, whilst in possession should have an embarrassment of options available to them in terms of where the ball goes. I'm going to use another Thracianism now and compare us to a team far better than us. Watch Arsenal or Manchester United or Liverpool, with a central midfielder in possession. Unrushed and with so many options. There is so much movement. The ball is usually simple and effective. No problems. The point I'm making is, we don't need a Berkovic, a Ginola, a Beckham or even a sodding Gareth Williams... those middle two (from three) should be good enough, providing they are given the options which a 4-4-2 needs to be effective.

And that's what makes slave labour so great... you don't have to worry about quality deteriorating towards the end of the working week. :D Don't even fucking think about taking that comment seriously.
The People's Hero Posted 17 August 2007 Author Posted 17 August 2007 That's the last time I ever be sensible. Right - now will someone please help me load Ian Marshall in to my catapult. We're doing a ram-raid on an off license with a slight deviation from the normal procedure. Oooh - we're going to need some ballast - where's Colin Hill?

I've found Collins John in an Oxfam shop, will he do?
The People's Hero Posted 17 August 2007 Author Posted 17 August 2007 I've found Collins John in an Oxfam shop, will he do? I'm going to need the combined weight of John Collins and Collins John for this. Oh and Colin hill. And Colin Powell. Actually, just Alan Rogers would do the trick if you find him lying around - he's a fat fo cker.
Finnegan Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 I had a dream about Michael Collins last night. Well. It was actually Liam Neeson, but he was being Michael Collins.
The People's Hero Posted 17 August 2007 Author Posted 17 August 2007 I fu cking wish Thomas Brolin would leave my catapult alone. Every morning I come back to it and he's sleeping underneath it.
Guest Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 I have a friend who looks like Thomas Brolin. She's a lovely girl.
Nationwider Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 Not strictly relevant - but Thomas Brolin invented Pudding.
The People's Hero Posted 17 August 2007 Author Posted 17 August 2007 I have a friend who looks like Thomas Brolin. She's a lovely girl. Ah. Could you please ask her kindly to stop sleeping beneath my catapult. It was ok when I thought it was the Swedish chubster, but if it's a mere look-a-like, no deal.
