Fantastic support!

Just returned from the midst of South London and i just wanted to comment on the brilliant support we had at Selhurst Park today. Considering it has not been the happiest hunting ground for us over the yeras, Leicester fans can be forgiven for giving this game a miss.

The 1,500-strong Blue Army were a credit to the team and constantly outsang the home support. What struck me even more was how the fans stayed with the side even a goal down and kept up the vocal encouragement. It was incredible and made me feel proud to be a Leicester fan.

Yes, the Arthur Waite stand does lend itself to creating a decent atmosphere with the cattle shed style roof, but those in blue were in extremely good voice and made the most of the archaic surroundings. I hope those other fans that went and who listened on the radio agree...

Ive mentioned this elsewhere but I was I was in the Palace end with my son (he lives down there) and his mate from school and his father and I was extremely proud to be a Leicester fan because we really did our bit and you could tell some of the Palace mob were surprised that they were being out sung at times. Next time I`ll be in the right end to help though lol

Was a great atmosphere, even a goal down we all got up and got behind them just after the goal went in, likewise with their second.

Yeah it was a better atmosphere than expected today, very good. Especially when we'd bagged our second

Just a shame we didn't have three points to cheer about <_<

It was absolutely great to see that sort of support. I was towards the back of the Arthur Waite stand and it was mayhem when we scored. Fans were on seats and in the aisles. Tremendous!

Yeah, loads ran into the isles. I dont think it actually gets better than jumping up and down on your seat after coming from behind and seeing the palace fans walking out. Although it felt completely the opposite when they equalised, but thats the joy of football.

As I said in the other thread, after the second goal, it was just one big love in !

LD3 jumped from the back row about three rows down on top of everyone!

Great support, decent banter with Palarse as well.

lol

I keep getting an image of him nose diving onto all of us

Great support again today, particularly 2nd half although imo our away support has been fantastic in each of our last 5 away days (preson, barnsley, Accy, Today, palace last season was good too) For the times we fail to create a raquet a t'walkers we sure make up for it on the road

Was there today.

I thought that the support was great, there was plenty of us and we made plenty of noise.

I think that Selhurst always creates an atmosphere and it's always better to watch your team when there is a decent amount of noise.

Great play by everyone who went today, it was a good day out.

:appl:

Shame we couldn't hold out for the win, but hey some things just can't be changed...

did anyone see the stewards nick kokopop's beers? absolutely hilarious. He wandered back up to the seasts with them, steward legs it up behind him, takes them out of his hands and legged it. Swiftest catch I've ever seen!

That was sickening behaviour from the steward. I vented my anger at him.

He was very quick out of the blocks to grab those beers!

Nice meeting you yesterday by the way

This is very good news as on Saturday vs Blackpool i thought that the Blackpool fans out cheered the city fans all the time, also seasons back when we faced leeds at the walkers (2nd game from end of season) the leeds fans were really loud, nice to see the city faithful like that for a change :):)

Good Day out, thought our support was shite in the first half tbh, but we livened up 2nd half which was good :D

Be intresting to see what Palace fans thought of our support?

1.500? more like 800

Clearly you where not at the game. Easily over 1000 there. Considering with took 800-1000 fans up to accrington there were a few more at the game yesterday than then.

Ok then

Personally think your are biggin yourself up quite a bit. Amazed that for the first away game of the season (even if it a bogey ground) for a team thats looking good (ok before blackpool), didnt fill up the away section. First half palace were easily outsinging you but when you did break into song it was ok. But as has been mentioned the arthur waite does get loud, lets face a group of 10 blookes can be head by the whole ground from the back of that stand. You didnt sing that much and were quiet for very long peiods of the game.

5/10 from me. Not being picky or biased, just honest opinions. Guess only 5 will come with less noise than you sorry.

If you're generally talking about the 1st half then you have a point but 2nd half we outsung you and dominated you on and off the pitch. Actually outsung is a big understatement! Between 60 and 90 mins I doubt there will be a louder team at selhurst this season.

Oh and as for filling up the away section, there was easily 1,400 there in my opinion. And what was the crowd 15,000 :(

I can garuntee that will not be the case. I can see what can be done in that stand and you were nowhere close to it. As for filling up the away section, there were loads of empty seats. As for palaces crowd, thats what happens when taylor is manager, just a total disgrace yesterday.

It's sad to see that our support has fallen so much in the last five or six years if that support yesterday is now classed as 'fantastic' We didn't sell all our tickets which was poor enough, but the banter and noise levels were rubbish. Having a group of probably 50 or so standing at the back singing the odd shit, tired and unfunny song is not fantastic support. Obviously there was one or two songs after we scored which were quite loud but seriously, it was wank, and yet again the embarrassing IRA/10 German Bombers etc songs were being sung by five or so disgusting chavs.
