hairy Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 I can remember going to the Caribbean Carnival on Vicky Park (1993 I think) and being blown away upon hearing my first bit of jungle. I love it but it was soon watered down into Drum and Bass which is when it started to lose its appeal to me (although A Guy Called Gerald is a God) Anyone remember these two classics:- UK Apache vs Shy Fx - Original Nuttah M-Beat Featuring General Levy - Incredible My mates hated it but me and Mrs H still listen to it to this day. Anyone else like Jungle?

Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 Are you serious? Deadly. I thought General Levy's hiccup singing was the coolest thing in the world when I was 10.
Master Fox Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 jungle is massive. u u u There's Ragga and Drum & Bass (Jungle). But those two tracks were appalling. I'd never associate General Levy with the scene , he's a ****.

James. Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 I mix a bit of drum n bass/jungle and still go out partying to it to this day. Wouldn't describe it as watered down jungle, just a different sound which had to evolve at some point. Here's my best albums: Goldie - Timeless: absolute classic, genre-defining, I could throw cliches at it all day. LTJ Bukem - Logical Progression: epic stuff, pioneer of the "intelligent" sub-genre. Ganja Crew - Super Sharp Shooter: no self respecting music lover, nevermind jungle lover, should be without this album. Roni Size - New Forms: Brown Paper Bag Lamb - Lamb: moved things on with a Portishead (ish) sound. Plus mix albums off Metalheadz, True Playaz, Hospital, RAM, Virus, V, Full Cycle. Love it.
Daggers Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 The Amazon sucks arse. Fact. I've been there. It's full of things that bite or sting. ...and you should have seen my damn bed at night-time. Disgusting.
Alexikokopops Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 Anyone else immediately think of that episode of Father Ted when Jack had to go to St. Clabberts Old Folks Home and Father Stack replaced him and spent the nights listening to jungle? Just me?

THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 I'll listen to anything off the hospital label and I like fast soul. Mc Conrad and Makoto - Golden Girl is one of the most chilling drum n bass records I have ever heard

Just be waiting for the evening gig mate to be honest.
