Steven Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Broken his leg in two paces. From the BBC. Dyer suffers suspected broken legWest Ham midfielder Kieron Dyer suffered a suspected broken leg in the Carling Cup tie against Bristol Rovers. The England international, who joined from Newcastle at the start of this season, was carried off on a stretcher in the opening minutes of the game. Dyer was injured in a tackle by Joe Jacobson and the game was delayed by several minutes before he was replaced by Mark Noble. The 28-year-old was immediately taken to hospital.
Geo V Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Poor sod, only just got back to full fitness, gets a move and now this happens. BTW how many injuries are West Ham and his former club getting? Someone must dislike them up there (looks to the gods )
Lord Nibblington Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Of course, whilst it is bad for old Keiron that he's broken his leg.... at least he does mean he's not going to get anywhere near the England squad for awhile.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Of course, whilst it is bad for old Keiron that he's broken his leg.... at least he does mean he's not going to get anywhere near the England squad for awhile. I know what you mean, i've never rated him as a footballer but he has had such bad luck and i hope he recovers well.
Nationwider Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 West Ham's insurers are going to be pissed at this. Ashton, Faubert and now Dyer. I can't find it in my heart to be sorry for the guy. He will of course pick up his pay cheque regardless. Many others with long-term illnesses in less well-paid jobs aren't so fortunate. I'm not feeling too much love for West Ham either - they play some lovely football at times, but Curbishley is spraying the wonga around over the odds in a very vulgar manner. Chav Utd IMO. As far as London goes, I'm rooting for Fulham and that geek Sanchez this season - £30M-odd on about 27 crappy players, bless them.
BigGibbo Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 i can't see him coming back from this to be honest definately can't see him getting back to the form that got him in the england squad & wouldn't be suprised if he retired in the near future get well soon though dyer he's an asset to any club when fit including england

Lord Nibblington Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 I'm also rooting for them... to get relegated in spectacular fashion. So... what happens if they do it in a mundane fashion? Are we happy? Sad? Dissapointed? We must know these things!
lookwhaticando Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 So... what happens if they do it in a mundane fashion? Are we happy? Sad? Dissapointed? We must know these things! Relegation - no matter how it comes about - will please me. Relegation in the most spectacular of fashions (a few points off for dodgy money, a few for not turning up for a match, lots of points lost in the last minutes of games, points failing to be scored when the strikers fail to hit arses with banjos, etc etc...) would please me even more. ------ Tottenham P38, 38pts Derby P38, 20pts Fulham P38, -5pts ------
Joe. Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Terrible for Dyer. He's only just got back to match fitness and now he's going to be out for months again. I hope he makes as qucik recovery as possible, it's never good to see any player out with an injury like this.
Mort Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 How old is Dyer now? Coz throughout his time it seems at every club he's picked up injury after injury... you get the sense that one day he's just going to have to call it a day, coz this is getting stupid and if he keeps it up no prem club is going to be interested in paying his wages (well maybe Wigan... then again they can afford it!)... players can fall through the leagues veru quickly was they start being seen as "injury prone" and Dyer is not sufficently good to be totally safe from that fate.
Raj Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Its not in my nature to wish anyone harm, however i feel ashamed to say that when i heard this last night i had a little chuckle to myself. Maybe due to Dyers,or WHams bad press of late, perhaps they deserve each other. Im sorry!
Lord Nibblington Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 How old is Dyer now? I believe he's 28. Could be stunningly wrong though.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Made me laugh when Curbishley said something about winning the game not meaning anything now, or whatever it was. Hilarious. He's not dead for f**k's sake. People break their legs all the time.
Charnwood Norris Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Depressing injury to get at age 28/29, but In some way's it's good for England. He's never been spectacular, was terrible against Germany and, like Jenus (whenever he gets called up), just can't understand how they keep getting into the national team when you have untried players like Nolan and Milner... whom deserve at least a cap by now. Moreover, if Big Sam was in charge of England, Dyer wouldn't get a say. I bet Bowyer's sitting on a tin roof grinning like a Chesire cat inside.
Tommy G Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 The picture looked sick of it in the papers. Reminded me of Larsson when he snapped his leg. Sick!
