He has no pace either. Defoe will never get in to the team. I don't know why Mclaren bothers putting him in the squad if he's never going to play him. Johnson is on a bad run at the moment and doesn't look like scoring. Crouch is suspended for the Israel game. Alan Smith is OVERRATED and NO WAYNE ROONEY So that is my 'Long Version' of your quote

JAMES RICHARDS - FERDINAND** - TERRY - A COLE SWP - GERRARD - HARGREAVES - J COLE CROUCH - JOHNSON ** I would demand that he tries to dribble the ball out of defence like he used to. He must take a few chances, especially with Richards there to help the defence if he loses possession. The wingers must bomb on, the full-backs must do the same and Gerrard gets to link up with the strikers and go forward. I hope that for once in my lifetime that the lads just play with no inhibitions and really express themselves because we have some quality players who are too busy in running back to defend or all getting behind the ball when they have enough ability to hammer average sides but seem too restricted by the managers to do so. ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK!

Defoe instead then I really worry about this big squad situation within Premiership clubs because they aren't helping the national side and these weak willed players are happy with being bench players. Defoe and Bent at Spurs are not first choice, Owen being a guaranteed start may even be questionable when fully fit because Martins is playing well alongside the probable regular starter Viduka, Alan Smith is now a midfielder , Crouch is not a guaranteed starter at Liverpool either, especially with Torres signing for the Scousers, Walcott is now being deployed as a right-midfielder and thats just the strikers! However its not all bad news as we have plenty of strength in depth in midfield, especially on the right with Walcott, SWP, Becks, Ashley Young (who can play on the left too), Lennon and Pennant who seems to be flying at the moment. We have options galore in central defence too but that may be because most of the English centre backs in the Premiership are playing football! We need some more strikers though to partner Rooney. If we had one world class goalscorer in the Heskey mould we`ll be all right but I cant see many coming through.
