morris1234 Posted 28 August 2008 Posted 28 August 2008 Kinda makes me want Pearson to bring him in... could get rid of a few others and just have Revell... we'd be winning the Premiership with him up front in no time! apparently we might have ended up signing him as i remember just after martin allen left, i think he(MA) was on big league weekend and he was saying he had benn tracking him for a while and thought he was fanastic.

Asha Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 Won my first Premiership game with Millwall, 3-1 at home to Tottenham before shocking back-to-back away games, 1-0 defeat to fellow promoted side Man.City and 4-0 defeat to Blackburn. No width, no real attackive drive...my players are always on International Duty, and my right back is shit. Next 3 games Everton (h), Manchester United (a), and Darlington in the League Cup.

I always try to think my tactics through carefully every time I try to "make" and when I think of using narrow tactics, I'm always afraid they'll have loads of space to attack down the wings so I try to not go too wide or narrow... what advantage would a narrow tactic give out of interest? I would normally try and play a 4-4-2 with slight variations sometimes but I'll always have a fantastic pre-season and then balls it up when it comes to the proper games... I think I will have to be getting back to basics and work out the best tactics for the players at City that we have now... it can't be that hard!

It works very effectively and got my Middlesbrough team to 11th in the league after I'd just been promoted. Oh, and it's my current Birmingham team but the same tactic I used with 'boro.

morris1234 Posted 30 August 2008 Posted 30 August 2008 with my city game, when i first got up, i used 4-1-3-2 (with an arrow moving down with the dm) and i finished 4th in my first season! for this to work best you need a goalscorer and a class keeper! when i first went up i had billy sharp (top scorer in first season and has been ever since) and david james! now i still have billy sharp but seb frey in goal just try it whoever it was that needed a formation.
