Thracian Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Pentley 8 (Five or six excellent saves and no great gaffs that I noticed. One person who was not to blame for our hammering). Kaebi 2 (Embarrassingly skinned for the first goal, nothing really went right until he was taken off injured before half time). Now adjusted to 4 (with MP weighting) and 10 for expediency and to offer positive encouragement to an established international. Marvellous game in all honesty. Club should have been more sensitive about putting him up against a fast, skillful and direct opponent. In most cases he was very unlucky not to stop him anyway. Rowe-Turner 4 (Showed pace at times but will want to forget this one). Magunda 3 (Totally exposed and outclassed by West Brom's talented attackers in the centre of defence). Garner 3 (Likewise I'm afraid. won a few headers but was always vulnerable to the pace and strength of West Brom) Ashley Chambers 3 (One or two runs only, a mere shadow of his former self) Porter 5 (Good first 10 minutes, awful next 35, steadier second half when help arrived) Beswick 5.5 (Mostly ineffective until moving to left-back towards the end when he helped steady things. Two goodish shots though which passed narrowly wide) Sappleton 6.5 (Decent goal, unlucky with shot that hit a post and two close efforts in an otherwise ordinary but game display) McKay 6.5 (Never stopped working himelf to a standstill. One shot on the turn deserved a goal, he had an assist in Sappleton's consolation and was involved in most of our few good things). Djiziri 0 (I cannot think of a single useful contribution he made up to the time he was sent off. The side had enough problems without someone who barely functioned at all.). Adjusted to 2 (with MP weighting) and 10 for expediency etc (see Kaebi). The problem with Djiziri was that no-one gave him the right sort of pass by which he could show the very best of his silky skills and circus tricks. It generally held his position on the pitch so there was no real excuse for others not finding him. As a winger he clearly needed to avoid wasting energy in defence to save himself for spearheading a second half comeback. Why he was taken off before he could effect that is a mystery. Subs: Hayes 6 (Buzzed a bit after a slow start and definitely helped us to play some acceptable football towards the end). Tuttle 5 (Played his part in an improving end to the game) O'Neil 6.5 (One assist, almost a second and when he made a mistake deep in our attacking half, chased back determinedly and finally helped thwart the counter. If only Djeziri had showed such willingness).
Flynny Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Sappleton 6.5 (Decent goal, unlucky with shot that hit a post and two close efforts in an otherwise ordinary but game display)McKay 6 (Never stopped working himelf to a standstill. One shot on the turn deserved a goal, he had an assist in Sappleford's consolation and was involved in most of our few good things). Hehehe. Joking aside, cheers for the report.
BigGibbo Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Pentley 8 (Five or six excellent saves and no great gaffs that I noticed. One person who was not to blame for our hammering). Oh dear 6 - 1 & our keeper played well i would of been better off not knowing that
Thracian Posted 1 October 2007 Author Posted 1 October 2007 Hehehe.Joking aside, cheers for the report. Having Sappleton in the side and playing stableford golf at Stapleford Park is driving me nuts.
Tevez Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Porter out, let the cnut eat Kebabs every friday the twat.
ASH17LCFC Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Porter out, let the cnut eat Kebabs every friday the twat. Get off his back, give him a chance you where willing to give elvis a chance in the first team earlier.
Raj Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Is there anything positive about supporting City at the moment???
Thracian Posted 1 October 2007 Author Posted 1 October 2007 Porter out, let the cnut eat Kebabs every friday the twat. He wasn't the worst by any means - and he has been out of action for weeks. Not a good day for him to have been captain mind.
Geo V Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 No Ferreira? Is he injured or was he left out for Wolves tomorrow I wonder? Lets hope the latter.
Milky Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 No Ferreira? Is he injured or was he left out for Wolves tomorrow I wonder? Lets hope the latter. I think he may be injured and has travelled back to Portugal for treatment. He wasn't at the game against Stoke you see.
Thracian Posted 1 October 2007 Author Posted 1 October 2007 No Ferreira? Is he injured or was he left out for Wolves tomorrow I wonder? Lets hope the latter. I presume he is still injured. I think it was his hamstring so I cannot imagine he will feature tomorrow. Frankly I think all talk of Kaebi, Ferreira and Djeziri featuring anytime soon is seriously premature and to say that gives me no pleasure at all. Kaebi is now injured anyway, Ferreira was and didn't look ready for 90 minutes anyway and if Djeziri breaks through then we've all got a chance based on tonight's showing.
Geo V Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 I think he may be injured and has travelled back to Portugal for treatment. He wasn't at the game against Stoke you see. Great stuff. If its true like Thracian has also said, why would he go back to Portugal for treatment on a hamstring injury? Anyway, lets hope our line-up tomorrow is more balanced than Saturdays shambolic first XI.

ASH17LCFC Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Ferreira gone Portugal for a holiday more like Why did we sign him ? Doesn't seem intrested.
Milky Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Ferreira gone Portugal for a holiday more like Why did we sign him ? Doesn't seem intrested. What do you base that on?
Geo V Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Ferreira gone Portugal for a holiday more like Why did we sign him ? Doesn't seem intrested. He isnt getting picked. I cant see how he cant be bothered. Its the management who cant be bothered.
Hullfox Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Porter 5 (Good first 10 minutes, awful next 35, steadier second half when help arrived) What sort of help? The comments you make on his performances for the first eleven often say he had no support, is there any chance that it might just be him?
Thracian Posted 1 October 2007 Author Posted 1 October 2007 He isnt getting picked. I cant see how he cant be bothered. Its the management who cant be bothered. I can't quite understand what you're saying about Ferreira. In what way is the management to blame for Ferreira not getting picked? He was picked for the reserves until his injury and has hardly been a shining light.
Bert Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 He was all kitted up ready to come on as a sub against Forest but then Levi came on.

He was picked for the reserves until his injury and has hardly been a shining light. Ferriera has featured in 3 games for the reserves from between the 10th and 24th of September, and thats after he was at the club for 10 days and would have had plenty of training during the International break. In that time we have played Porter on the left v QPR, Sheehan v Florist and Sheehan again against Charlton. His injury occurred on the 24th of Sept and he could of but didn't feature in any of those games. Just like Kaebi, he for some reason isn't being picked. Lets not make it out to be because of injury as we had plenty of time to play him and I am not the only one to query why we would get players like this in and see them on the bench when the likes of Sheehan and Levi have hardly set the world alight on the left of midfield.

I've no idea why we got these players in. Ferreira has never looked fit enough or good enough over 90 minutes to play first team. Kaebi looked a possible until tonight when he frightened me to death as a potential full-back. Whether he will finally come through as a right midfielder remains to be seen but I cannotsee how your guessing at the ability of players you've not seen just because you don't see particular people as world beaters helps at all. At least we have a decent first team record when Sheehan's played. Had you seen Kaebi tonight you wouild know exactly why he hasn't been picked.

So after one poor game Kaebi has all of a sudden become not worthy of a chance? The point here is that the Sheehans of our squad have had a chance. Whether or not Kaebi and or Ferreira make it is to be seen but I would like to see them in action over a few games to see what they can do. I have seen Levi, Sheehan and Mattock and the lads have the odd decent game but regularly let the side down with overall performance. One good game and 4 or 5 shockers isn't good enough and the buck doesn't just stop at the kids, it extends to when the likes of Carl Cort come in and do nothing over a few games.

One good game and 4 or 5 shockers isn't good enough and the buck doesn't just stop at the kids, it extends to when the likes of Carl Cort come in and do nothing over a few games. The players you've mentioned have been in action lots of times. If you've not seen them that's hardly anyone's fault but your own and, presumably, the distance you live away from Leicestershire. Kaebi for instance has not had "one poor game". He was all over the place first half against Wolves Reserves and arguably had one good game a couple of weeks later. Taking all the games together including tonight's I'm not convinced at all and am virtually certain that Megson won't be. Porter has hardly played this season, Sheehan might have "let the side down" at Charlton and Palace though no more than the centre-backs at Charlton when, in any case, the whole team sounded awful. Otherwise he's scored two goals and made one in a succession of good results including our cup game against Forest which has since led us on to a prestige visit to Chelsea. So he's done his bit. Mattock had a 10 minute spell of "letting the side down" against Blackpool and was excellent against Villa and QPR so he's done fine too. The four or five shockers you mention don't exist and certainly not when their performances are laid out against others who've occasionally let us down. There may be better alternatives to be found for most of our players including the youngsters you are so quick to condemn but so far, King perhaps excepted, I've not seen them in Leicester shirts. And as for our batch of summertime signings I'm underwhelmed. N'Gotty, Clemence, Kishishev are fine. Hayes and Chambers might come through, Sappleton's a decent gamble and Fulop on loan is a Godsend. Otherwise I doubt I'd have bothered with any of them.

No offence but even when I lived in Leicester I had more pressing matters than going to watch the reserves or the academy. Watching City home and away was enough and watching say 70% of the games this season will be good enough for me. I'm not taking anything away from those of you who go to watch these other matches but it certainly isn't for me and you can never really judge a players ability until we see how they cope with the first team at this level. My judgments on the players are made in what I see and thats why you wont hear me slating someone like King or Odhiambo. Others might as they may well have got down to the academy or reserves but I`ll make my assessments on reading about how certain players progress on loan via fan sites and match reports from what are usually unbiased sections of the media as well as what I see with my own eyes. Try assessing players, managers and chairman without rose tinted glasses or making snap biased judgments on your favourite players as you may well enjoy it and find it almost fulfilling.
