stez Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 really, really, really, really good...... anyone got it???? If not get it!!!! i have got it, not got into it properly yet. do you have the 'orchestral' one too?
Finchy Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 I have it. Now the roses are my favourite band of all time and i have loved most of Ian's stuff to date, bit this last album just doesn't do it for me. usually it takes a few listens to get into any album, but i have listened to World Is Yours 10 times now and i still think it's crap, the reviews were right for once.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 10 October 2007 Author Posted 10 October 2007 i have got it, not got into it properly yet. do you have the 'orchestral' one too? Yea the Orchestral cds ok... That song with Sinead O'Connor is soooooo typical of his politically motivated songs, good tho. Bit like the Manics in that respect, and that only!
Durnerz Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 Going to go and see him in Wolverhampton in December. Big fan of Ian Brown and the Stone roses. Listened to a few of the tracks off the new albumn, impressive thus far.
The Reverend Posted 10 October 2007 Posted 10 October 2007 I like it a lot. And the orchestral versions are brilliant, i didnt think i'd like them at all but they are so easy to listen to. Top marks Brownster.
mancunianfox Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 I quite like some of Brown's work but he's never really done it for me. Though the Stone Roses were a good band who made a very good first record they are still perhaps the most over-rated band who aren't Nirvana imo.

I liked some of the Roses stuff and want to hear Brown's latest so I am watching this space carefully.

mancunianfox Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 :o :o :o :o    under rated imo Well maybe its just because I live in Manchester that I feel that they are over-rated...
Lillehamring Posted 14 October 2007 Posted 14 October 2007 Yea the Orchestral cds ok... That song with Sinead O'Connor is soooooo typical of his politically motivated songs, good tho. Bit like the Manics in that respect, and that only! what, so it's pretentious, musically inept, egotistical, cock-rock bollocks???
stez Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 hmmm, i gave it a proper thru-listen today, and it really didn't rock my world, there were a few goodies (sister rose and you and me forever) not really any baddies. he obviously got a violin and bible for christmas last. i realise now why he said for us to forget his previous albums, cos they're better
Chairman of the Bored Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 Big turn out for Mr Brown at Rock City, Tuesday. Haven't seen so many combat style hoodies in one place before. All Manks and Scallies larging it. Get in!
Durnerz Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 I've just got my tickets ordered for the gig in Wolverhampton, bring on King Monkey!
Durnerz Posted 6 December 2007 Posted 6 December 2007 Just got back from the gig, absolutely immense showing from Mr Brown, and to top my night off he did 'I wanna be adored'. Legend!
