Nath Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 9 starts, 6 goals. Lethal. So lethal they are getting rid? As much as i would like him here, i cant see it A player with stats of 2 goals every 3 games don't get sold/loaned
dandannieldanok Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 Southampton are broke. Not as bad as it is made out in the media though, they don't need to sell Rasiak if they don't want to.
ronnup Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 Not as bad as it is made out in the media though, they don't need to sell Rasiak if they don't want to. they've made a wedge off Bale, Jones and Walcott.
dandannieldanok Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 they've made a wedge off Bale, Jones and Walcott. Yep and if they can afford £1.2m on a second-rate championship defender (wayne thomas) I'd say they are absolutely fine.
Geo V Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 They got more than a million for "Pele" from WBA as well didnt they? I`d be surprised if they were skint. One thing does seem strange both this season and last and thats that George Burley doesnt seem to like playing both strikers in the same side. I thought if Rasiak had not been dropped that maybe they could have got promotion via the play-offs, especially with the personnel they had there last season. Anyway, he`d be great for us as long as we accept him for what he is. He is fantastic in the air, holds the ball up well and has a decent shot but dont start moaning when he stands about because he is a bit of a lazy sod by all accounts! He`s definitely better than Cort or MDV but I would worry where the supply line of crosses with be coming from playing 532.
joely22 Posted 16 October 2007 Posted 16 October 2007 He was absolute class with us when we had him. Averaged a goal a game, went to Spurs and his half decent reputation got a good battering but has seemed to do a good job for the Saints although they seem to hate him. Seems to do nothing in a game and then pop up with a goal. Not a bad thing for a striker. A loan move with view to permanent would be a really good deal for you lot.

Cheers As for your lot, do you still think that European football is a possibility?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 I'll 'Jizz on the spot' if Rasiak joins. Note to self be nowwhere Tevez if we sign him which we wont as he doesn't fit in to megsons defensive plans
Ric Flair Posted 17 October 2007 Author Posted 17 October 2007 Ok fine very good but you must always be suspicious as to why he doesn't always play, must be an attitude problem, can't be bad form with those stats. The last thing we need is someone who may not put in the effort. I would like an explanation about what you said earlier about me knowing nothing, you may know more than me but I found it puzzling. It's all about goals though mate, we have triers and 100% players and they aren't good enough to win us matches. If we are after a player with a goal scoring record like Rasiak's then we should be pleased. He has the quality to score goals at a prolific rate, if somehow we get him, it will be a major coup. My apologies about your alleged knowledge of football, I just always seem to read bizarre players you suggest and you love Micky Adams which is enough reason to question your judgement!
Bojimha Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 This lad would be great, a proven goalscorer in this league and will have a big polish community backing here in Leicester and nearby Coventry.
Tevez Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Rasiaks proven at this level, one of many few proven strikers that are avaliable to buy.
STUHILL Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Yep good striker for this level, but is this just another pointless link? I'm getting tired of transfer talk. All links and no deals recently. Would still prefer a strong pacey striker, but wouldn't turn down Rasiak if had chance.
Jimmy Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 watching the NI game tell you what Laferty of Brunley wouldn't be a bad shout, 6'4" 2 good feet and a fair turn of pace too
joely22 Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 CheersAs for your lot, do you still think that European football is a possibility? Yeah. After the 6-0, 5-0 and 4-0 drummings I now think we can make the surge towards 5th spot.
Geo V Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 watching the NI game tell you what Laferty of Brunley wouldn't be a bad shout, 6'4" 2 good feet and a fair turn of pace too Some club had a £5m bid for him turned down in the summer so I wont hold your breath on that one fella!
Micky Ruddle Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Don't know what to think. Maybe a good'un. Maybe a risk. Hmmm
ASH17LCFC Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Liked him at derby and he is a class championship player. Hard for him at Spurs but was always gonna be hard making a huge step up and after moving back to the championship. He has been banging goals in again. If and i mean IF we where to get him. I could see a loan move till Jan and then around 2.5 million for a move.

Lineker's Left Foot Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 Yes I'd bet to a bottom dollar that this link will be just like the rest of the in the Transfer Talk section and come to fook all !!
lee7 Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 after watching todays performance we could do with a player like rasiak upfront to hold the ball up and bring others into play.
foxad Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 with the prospect of a takeover at southampton nearing it looks unlikely they will be offloading rasiak now, not that i think they would have anyway.
heskey 4 england Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 i tell you what 3mil on DJ or 3mil on rasiak ... i know which i would choose the polish wizard everytime
Strokes Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 i tell you what 3mil on DJ or 3mil on rasiak ... i know which i would choose the polish wizard everytime D.J wasn't 3mil, more like 1.5.
heskey 4 england Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 D.J wasn't 3mil, more like 1.5. my bad then id still rather play double for a player that will be of some use though
