Player ratings v Scunny

He deserved to go, if you watch the whole highlights, then you'll see it. A mad man who was asking to be sent off and i bet every person watching that today on tv, was saying the same thing ... Bet he gets sent off in a min.

He did look like a psycho at times.

But what he did actually get sent off for wasn't a good decision by the ref.

Right I want to let this rant out right now, it's been building up for too long. lol

1. Shaun ****ing Newton- I wasn't convinced when we signed this useless excuse for a footballer. Wen he tries to take on a player he loses it, when he passes it he loses it, he can't cross and can't shoot. Go away right now.

2. Stearman :@- What a poor wing back, what a poor player, he's just not good enough. We need to get rid when we can and get in a proper wing back.

3. Sheehan- Another one who's just not good enough (I don't want to start up another debate by the way). He can't attack and he certainly can't defend. The only attribute he possesses is that he can put in a good set piece.

Rant over....for now ;)

Regardless whether he is a mad man or not, he puts in the effort that players like Fryatt and Stearman don't.

From what I saw at the MATCH, the referee was waiting for a moment to send him off.

The challenge he got sent for was never a sending off.

Had his eyes on the ball, but his hand and feet where all over the defender and he had been warned many times. Needed to be taken off and just before he got sent off, he was warned. So what did he do about 30 seconds later

Definitely, but hume was asking to in the end. Still i know what you mean. You wanna see passion and someone playing with his heart on his sleeve and what hume does best. The noice the leicester fans made aswell was very good and could always hear them.

Well done and even the commentator said it was the leicester fans trying to lift there team.

I'm glad that got noticed.

Bit of a bruise on my hand from banging the metal during the great escape which must of lasted about 20 minutes.

Utter shite. It was absoloutely diabolical refereeing to send him off for that challenge in particular. Fair enough he was warned many times, but why didnt the ref wait for Hume to commit an actual foul to administer the 2nd yellow? The challenge that he walked for was NOT a foul.

Fulop - 8 (Fulop's Unbeatable)

Stearman - 4 (Absolute shite)

Kisnorbo - 8

McAuley - 8 (All rock solid)

Clemence - 6 (Didn't see much of him tbh, kept possesion though)

Newton - 5 (A few nice touches but final ball was crap)

Chambers = Right back

Hume - 4 (Ineffective and reckless, Megson should have taken him off at half time)

Fryatt - 5 (Hume leaves him isollated too often and he struggled on him own, missed a sitter though)

Fulop 8 - His kicking wasnt so good but amazing in the air and never looked like getting beaten

Sheehan 6.5 - Solid enough today but didnt get forward enough.

N'Gotty 7.5 - Didnt make as many interceptions as the other CB`s but was tidy and commanding when called on.

McAuley 8 - A few good interceptions and great in the air.

Kisnorbo 8.5 - Did most of the work at teh back and kept there strikers quiet. A couple of better passes out of defence too got us going and "scored" a good goal!

Stearman 7 - Did OK. Held the line well and got a few crosses in but didnt have that much to aim at.

Clemence 6.5 - Did some tidy stuff but went missing for large periods. Dont think he got in the final third did he?

Chambers 6 - Still dont understand his role in this formation. Another defensive midfielder that doesnt get forward. Not his fault though.

Newton 5 - Poor. Winger playing in midfield but when he got in decent possies did fook all

Hume 5 - Some lovely bits of skill but all outside the box. I dont know wat his problem was but he had a bee in his bonnet and almost played like he wanted to get sent off. Not much service to help him.

Fryatt 6 - Starved of service and ended up doing the usual by doing too much by himself. Should have given the ball a couple of times but all in all created his own chances, turning and getting shots blocked and one which he should have taken. Ran his socks off with no creative support from midfield to help him.

Weso 6 - On for 5 mins and got forward more than the rest of the midfield with a late run down the right. Get him in for Sheff U.

DJ 6 - Hiding to nothing. MF led the line well when down to 10 men and DJ one won free-kick in his short spell on.

GM 6 - Set them up well but draws wont win us a play-off spot. I get the 532 away from home as it works but at least one of the centre mids must be attacking if not two. We have 5 at the back and Clem and should have 4 craetive players in front of that unit, especially with Fulop behind tehm too!

Fulop (7): Wasn't tested much--that first half shot by Hayes was never going to beat him, but it was hit hard so he did the right, safe thing turning it aside. This guy has great command of the box and the stickiest fingers this side of the Danube. I've got complete confidence that he'll get every cross he goes for.

N'Gotty (7.5): Steady all game long.

Kisnorbo* (8): Made tackles and won headers all over Glanford Park and was denied cruelly the winner.

McAuley (7.5): See N'Gotty.

Stearman (6): Did the defensive things correctly, did the offensive things poorly, but that's what one would expect anyway. Not quite Dave Challinor with his throw-ins but he's OK.

Chambers (5.5): Pedestrian.

Clemence (6): Did a good job marking between the center circle and the top of the box, but I'm not sure how much more he can add.

Newton (4): Looked a step too slow, first touch was much too heavy, struggled tracking back on the wing. I thought he was a serious liability out there.

Sheehan (5.5): Would have been a 5 if not for a few decent balls served into the box (finding Stearman on the corner in the first half and Kisnorbo's disallowed goal). Didn't show much confidence on the ball and couldn't find himself space. I thought he looked a bit out of his league at some moments.

Hume (5): Sigh... How can I not love this guy? He goes hard for everything, pesters defenders all game long, and sometimes he can produce brilliant moments. He's tenacious--if he were five inches taller, he'd win every ball in the air (or, if he were eight inches taller, he'd have grown up to be a fan favorite in the National Hockey League). But he's always teetering on the brink of a booking (especially if he's going to go crazy for lost causes all game long thanks to GM's hoofing strategy). Sure, his second yellow was harsh--but it's not a good idea to go kamikaze on every play when the ref's already written your name in the book.

Fryatt (4.5): Didn't seem to want the ball much for most of the game, and when he finally got it... ugggh.

Campbell (6): Should have started instead of Fryatt.

Wesolowski (NR): Only on for a few.

People are just responding to Thracian's ratings, isnt that allowed??

I respect most of what Thrac has to say but totally disagree on 7.5 for Sheehan. Unless the Sky cameras didnt do his performance justice i though he looked totally innefective, if being able to put a decent ball in alone makes you a good player then there's probably hope for all of us to make it!!

He's rubbish IMO, no doubt at all in my mind wether he's good enough or not, definately NOT for me, that goes for Stearman too, possibly the worst full backs ive seen at the club since Tony Spearing and John Curtis.

Apart from Stearman I thought the entire defence deserved a basic 7 for keeping yet another clean sheet and against a team that virtually always scores and has already seen off some good opposition this season.

City restricted Scunny to one real chance I can remember at their own ground and they did so because they were organised, didn't ball watch, didn't dive in and were never really beaten around the back.

Sheehan got an extra half a point for his inch perfect free-kick which provided a perfectly good goal for Kisnorbo that should have been the winner, a point reflected in Kissa's MoM rating.

Sheehan did little going forward because Megson's policy was to contain for the first half and simply try to pinch one in the second. Scunny closed down extremely quickly and Sheehan had no natural left-side player in front of him to develop attacks so basically remained in a defensive role.

He played that well, making at least two important interceptions in the second half and, apart from getting caught in midfield a couple of times when he should have had a call, he generally did what he had to do simply and effectively.

Once the ball went out from our defence Scunny closed down quickly. Our midfielders Chambers, Clemence and Newton were largely anonymous in an attacking sense, Hume was frustrated and ineffective and Fryatt never looked liked unsettling the home defence except on the one occasion when he should have scored.

We did overload defence once more but our real problems were caused by our missing midfielders, our inept attackers and the officials who robbed us of an entirely deserved win.

Thr trouble with offering ratings for a game that you watched on the TV is that you see only what the cameras show. There are a whole host of things happening off the ball which contribute to the game but don't get into shot.

For me, Megson has shown he knows how to not get beaten. We now need to start winning.

I would be interested to see who his first new face in will be.

Fulop - 9 - Exemplary performance, he just gets everything right. Almost a flawless keeper, what a signing he would be.

Stearman - 6.5 - Didn't think he was awful. Solid enough at the back but was never gonna be able to get forward much, I just don't think the option was there. When he did get forward there was just noone to play the ball to.

Sheehan - 6.5 - Gets a point for the freekick. Looked vulnerable at the back and S****horpe should have exploited this. Slow and poor in the challenge, passing wasn't great, kept giving the ball away. Won't blame him for not getting forward much because I really don't think they had much chance to but on the occasions he did break forward he usually just ran into a tackle and then was left stranded up the pitch. A very limited player.

McAuley - 7.5 - A good display I thought. Aerially dominant at the back but it was a shame he didn't get a chance to come forward for set pieces much. Was nice to see him try and get the ball down and bring it out of defence a few times, trying to pass it into a fairly static midfield.

N'Gotty - 7 - Rock solid.

Kisnorbo - 8 - Rock solid and a perfectly good goal disallowed.

Newton - 5 - Lazy and poor on the ball. Occasional moments of skill which never really came to anything. Not impressed.

Chambers - 6 - Admirably energetic but he doesn't really have the technical ability to play in central midfield.

Clemence - 6 - Didn't offer too much, but closed down well. Passing wasn't great.

Fryatt - 5 - Don't think there was a lack of effort as such but poor service. Shouldn't have wasted his chance. Formation doesn't suit him.

Hume - 5 - Sending off was harsh but it was coming sooner or later. Should have been subbed. Wasted his energy getting into conflict rather than making something happen.

Dreadful game, but we look so strong at the back. All our attacking play (what little of it) came from the right side, where we had 3 players playing at right wing at times. Very unusual, I think it confused that Kelly Youga chap. Nothing came from the left hand side and S****horpe started to realise that by trying to attck that side (they were probably aware of how crap Sheehan is at defeding as well). We managed to snuff them out though. Sheehan's set pieces really are superb, I just wish he had the rest of the attributes needed to be a footballer at this level. It's so frustrating seeing him unable to mark, defend or attack in unity from open play. The sooner Joe Mattock get's fit again the better, if we have to play Sheehan then I think i'd sooner have him in central midfield than at wing-back where he offers us nothing going forward or defending for that matter.

Hume looks a shadow of the player he was last season, starting to think he'll be a busted flush under Megson.

Oh dear, we would be screwed without last season's Hume.
