I've decided I want Joe Royle.

I could want Jewell, but I'd only be disappointed when he didn't turn up.

I've decided the only way to ever be happy about a managerial appointment is to pre-empt it somehow. Pick a likely candidate so that when he's appointed, you can be happy that "your" choice was appointed (even if he wasn't actually your dream ticket). And in this case, Royle seems credible and reasonably likely... and he's not a bad choice, in my opinion.

Sorry Jewell, you're just not likely enough. ;):P:D

Agreed...it has to be him...would be the appointment I would really back in a long long time...sadly I still don't think it's about to happen!

OK, lets make a list of who we want as manager... if your choice is already on then don't add him again!!! Also, try and add realistic options as I wouldn't mind making another poll based on the actual options we have rather than a poll made up of random names that came to mind at the time.

1. Paul Jewel

2. Frank Burrows

1) Waiting for a Premier League Club (Boro? Wigan?) to provide his next job in football.

2) Stopgap appointments, no better than Rob Kelly.

3) No experience of management, wouldn't leave a media job to manage us.

4) See above.

5) No experience outside top flight, salary demands would be excessive.

6) Not under this chairman..

Chris Hutchings has just been sacked from Wigan... could be him next?.... And Jewell will go back to Wigan?

Nope. Jewell for City me says.

Number 5 behind Burrows, Taggs, and Stowell.

Why would anyone want to appoint someone who's just failed as a manager?

Come on fellas - let's push for a change of emphasis for a change. Let's catch that optimistic bus and go for an attacking manager with the strength of character to put his ideas across and have the players believing in him.

Let's ditch dour - and dismal failure - once and for all.

Let's be a club that gets players and managers who do things, who make things happen and who are truly prepared to take people on.

What are you suggesting Thracian?, appointing Joe Royle?
