Yes he's been sacked but in the past I thought he was a good manager for them

Anyone watching the game, was good when the whole ground stood up sining "Stand up for Martin Jol" brought back great memories of The Kop standing up singing "Megson for Bolton" :D

Who would have thought this thread would have become relevant a few hours ago. I could claim that when I started it I knew this would happen but it would be a bare faced lie. :D

You mean...you DIDNT actually know!!! :o

Very harsh and a bit silly when the rumours first started flying about, but him going doesn't seem quite so ludicrous after another couple of months.

Harsh.

He did pretty well for Spurs, guiding them to their two best ever Premiership finishes. Although to be fair, he did have the money at his disposal.

I feel a little sorry for him. He's had a few injury problems, and although it shouldn't really be used as an excuse, it certainly has had an impact.

Once a team gets in a rut like they have, it's very difficult to get out of - the players, fans and manager all get frustrated and that transpires to hinder the team. Sometimes a change is needed in those circumstances to alleviate that, although I feel Jol is an excellent manager and will probably go on to do a good job elsewhere.

You mean at leicester??? :D:unsure:

Seriously he has always come across as an honest guy and never got into any slagging off type games.

Hope he does well, where ever he goes.
