Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 November 2007 Author Posted 23 November 2007 Went to see them last night in Camden. Awesome again. Had Shake A Fist in my head ever since they opened with it. Can't wait for February. I'll have seen three of their English dates in a row from July 21st 2007 to November 22nd 2007 to 14th February 2008. Dedication. Also got a limited-edition vinyl for being one of the first 200 people into the venue. :w00t:

I 'm useless though and didn't get a ticket for this February gig. Maybe there's still tickets. When's this new album out as well?

Maybe there's still tickets. When's this new album out as well? Electric Ballroom. Album is out in February too, it's called Made In The Dark. The new single is called Ready For The Floor and I believe that's out in January. They played pretty much all of the new album last night (plus three songs off The Warning - Boy From School, Over And Over and No Fit State - but nothing off the first album ), there are three or four belters but some of the slower songs felt a bit patchy. The best tracks are called Shake A Fist and Out At The Pictures. The single is okay but it's not as good as either of those.

Looking forward to that... should be terrific based on their previous stuff.

Not particularly amazing but I still like the first track and it must be about the rarest thing they've ever done. The EP is called 'Normal' and the tracks are 1. So Deep and 2. With Each New Day http://download.yousendit.com/19F2CB0E6734482F

Nationwider Posted 3 December 2007 Posted 3 December 2007 Random Hot Chip question... How long have they been around, and were they called anything else before they became Hot Chip? It's just I've got a strange feeling a saw them a few years ago supporting someone or other... ?

They started up in 2000 and I don't think they've had any other guises so I reckon that must be somebody else you're thinking of, my dear.

Reckon I saw a band like them in about 2001-02... can't remember what they were called though. I think they supported Pulp. It's a mystery?!
