Mack Posted 10 November 2007 Posted 10 November 2007 Without berating the players in detail and labouring on what was a laclustre performance for me one thing became abudantly clear today. After all that has gone on, all the coach's, Managers, players... etc etc what we need right now, in fact what is essential right now is for a well respected and experienced man with a pedigree for Promotion from the Championship to take the helm at the earliest possible opportunity. It may sound like I'm stating the obvious but what I'm saying is that with all the upheaval at the club today really showed the complete lack of motivation and confusion amongst the players as to what is required. We simply dont have time to mess around with a nearly man or a young Manager at the helm. We need a respected 'face' in charge that the players will immediately respect and listen to, we just dont have time to play silly games anymore.
skinnydipper Posted 10 November 2007 Posted 10 November 2007 Spoke to a mate after the game who worked as a freelance photographer at the match. He said the word in the press room generally and the Burnley club photographer specifically is that Cotterill was at the game today and is supposedly a done deal. That means it's almost anyone but Cotterill! If the rumours are right I think he's a) better than Megson but IMO so would Stevie Wonder be b) otherwise middle of the road in terms of who we might get. I think he's done a decent job on limited resources at Burnley - they showed us up today - but I'm not sure he's the man to get us to the Premiership.
davieG Posted 10 November 2007 Posted 10 November 2007 A big article in a morning paper about Cotterill where he states quite categorically that he would not be attending today's game.

skinnydipper Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 And how would photographer's know this?... He uses the media facilities to wire his photos and speaks to other photographers and journos. He was saying "this is what I've heard rather than saying get your mortgage on it" Personally I'd prefer someone like Gary Johnson but don't see that happening. Tigana would be exciting but I'm not convinced that he would hang around if the going gets tough.
irememberwellerstights Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 Joe Royle, come on down! On BBC teletext this morning: Joe Royle has plunged Leicester into confusion by withdrawing from the Foxes' managerial race. Peter Reid... Come On Down (please not)
He's not bald Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 On BBC teletext this morning:Joe Royle has plunged Leicester into confusion by withdrawing from the Foxes' managerial race. Peter Reid... Come On Down (please not) It's not Joe Royle that's done it!
Thracian Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 On BBC teletext this morning:Joe Royle has plunged Leicester into confusion by withdrawing from the Foxes' managerial race. Peter Reid... Come On Down (please not) Be interesting to know if that's because Royle prefers other options or because MM has perhaps kept him waiting to see what Tigana had to say.
davieG Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 Be interesting to know if that's because Royle prefers other options or because MM has perhaps kept him waiting to see what Tigana had to say. More like he signed a contract before yesterday's games saw the performance and immediately resigned.
Yaxx Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 On BBC teletext this morning:Joe Royle has plunged Leicester into confusion by withdrawing from the Foxes' managerial race. Peter Reid... Come On Down (please not) He obviously heard about the game yesterday and thought 'bollocks to that!'
DanTheFox07 Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 Just been looking at Scores on bbc sport and came across this:- Joe Royle has plunged Leicester into confusion by withdrawing from the Foxes' managerial race. (News of the World) This please`s me though if it`s true.
Mort Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 Considering the dross out there, Royle would have been a good shout IMHO... head and shoulders above the likes of Megson, Cottrill, Adkin etc... Dowie i can cope with, but the Tigana story seemed to have some validity (not that that will mean jack of course ).

lookwhaticando Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 There is a god . Tomorrow's back page headline: "Peter Reid frontrunner for Foxes job" Where'd your God go, eh??! HUH?!?!?
Raj Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 A special mate of mine has texted me to say the next manager will be an ex footballer. FACT!
Mack Posted 12 November 2007 Author Posted 12 November 2007 Every day that passes now is just wasted time. Burrows and Co. have shown they have nothing further to offer our squad of players and their time is temporary charge has nothing more to offer apaprt from a bit of honest effort. Sadly that honest effort seems to be lost on our squad. The training ground must be a place full of uncertainty right now, we cant afford for this to go on any longer. I know Milan said he had to go away and had been putting it off for a while to try and resolved the situation but this is pretty damn essential now. We need a respected figure to take control now.

no1russ Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 Joe Royal is on sky sports as i write this. 6-50pm Monday. He has just ruled himself out of the Leicester job due to personal reasons.
crisp monster Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 for experience and knowledge at this level it's Tony Pullis for me few would agree on here though
Asha Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 I really don't think enough people are throwing Sir Les into the hat.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 It's got to be someone already in a job. If it was Royle, Souness et al, Mandy would have had them in yesterday. The Adkins rumour is the one I'm backing. Probably just about compensation.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 for experience and knowledge at this level it's Tony Pullis for mefew would agree on here though Can I just say that Tony Pulis is a grade A f***** tosser. Long ball merchant with the tactical acumen of a snail. And that's being cruel to snails. Why on earth do you want him?
