Free to season ticket holders isn't it? May as well pop down and see the likes of Hellings, Kaebi and co play.... Kee is on the bench too so will be good to see if he gets a chance tonight

Rather go training for my own team than watch a bunch of players who aren't even good enough to get in our shockingly awful first team... :ph34r:

Well I'm looking forward to the chance of seeing Billy Kee again. You might have thought he'd start given that he scored another hat-trick Saturday and has 17 goals to his name thus far but there is a bit of competition at that end of the field with McKay, Odhiambo and Sappleton all showing they can also score and Kee, who's a bulky lad, might still be recovering after the academy outing.

Apart from us appearing to have no alternative right back I think it's a pity Kaebi is starting there again tonight. I really think he needs to be looked at as an attacker.

Even if he does well it won't be enough to convince me he's the answer to our first team problems at right back - Chambers is the obvious alternative to Stearman - but I would have liked to see if the Iranian could function principally as an attacker.

Oh yes and there's Ashley Chambers. Just perhaps people will be able to judge if he's a candidate for that wide right berth although he's on the bench so there's absolutely no guarantee he'll play.

Still can't see why Djeziri gets in but still. Perhaps tonight he will reveal untold ability that I've missed so far and I'll owe him an apology.

City: Henderson, Kaebi, Cox, Hellings, Garner, Rowe-Turner, Odhiambo, Hayes, Sappleton, McKay, Djeziri.

Subs: Kee, Pentney, Chambers (Ashley), Ferreira, Cobb.

Ferreira can't even get in the starting XI for the reserves, remarkable.

Makes you wonder why we actually got him in the first place??

17 goals already is a remarkable total even at that level. Am I right in thinking that he hasn't even featured in all of the academy's matches either? I think he needs to be playing at the next level up if he is to challenge himself because he isn't going to develop properly if he's scoring like that every game for the academy.

I did try to work that one out and gave up.

I just wonder if Beaglehole's pissed off with him doing his own thing and wandering all over the field.

He seemed to be on at him times against Rotherham. It wasn't that he was playing too badly and he looked as fit as I've seen him this season. It was just that he kept ruining the shape of the team and SB couldn't seem to get it through to him.

Beaglehole likes width but Ferreira kept moving inside. It appeared he was everywhere but where Beaglehole wanted him.

I don't blame the Beagle for having a go - but how the hell Djeziri plays ahead of Ferreira I don't know.

Djeziri reminds me of a dancing fairy. Remember those plastic clockwork dancers that used to go round and round on a pair of tiny wheels?

Probably not. Anyway he does all sorts of little tricks, step overs, dummies, sidesteps, you name it. But all while he's standing still and his team mates are waiting for a simple pass.

By the time he does pass the chances have gone and he either gets dispossessed or passes the ball backwards.

It will all be diferent tonight I'm sure.

My advice to Ferreira is to do as he's asked. To play as the team requires instead of how he chooses.

Being fair I think they're bringing him on okay. Beaglehole not slow in pushing his lads onwards when the time's right. Kee's terrific in some ways but is clearly still learning. Best to be patient I think.

I like Billy Kee, but I just wonder if its any good including him in the first team squad and letting him play at the moment.

Just like our current crop of strikers, he'll suffer as well with the lack of service from the midfield. I don't think it would do him any good to throw him in a team who's struggling quite badly.

That means that he's likely to go wherever the wind or ball takes him and if you take that off him, then you have a problem. It's often why Portuguese players fail to adapt to English football, we play completely different football. It's a shame our club isn't prepared to accomodate Ferreira's talent in the team, because he has more creativity in his daily pan load than the rest of our team has put together on the field.

Look at Ronaldo, he plays a free role and requires his team mates to cover him. It took him a while to settle in as he was prone to exposing the team when he tried to make things happen. He's now the best player in the Premiership and teams are destroyed by his flair and creativity. Now, Ferreira is not a patch on Ronaldo, but he's achieved enough in the game to suggest he's got a large slice of what we need for the level we are playing at.

Unfortunately I don't think Ferreira has shown any of his best to date probably because he's not been properly fit.

Last week both myself and others noticed that he was light on his feet and forever wanting to be involved. Unfortunately the quality of his football didn't quite compliment his lively demeanour.

Perhaps tonight we'll see both.

By 'next level up' I was suggesting playing him at reserve level for a while not sticking him in the first team :D
