I'm pretty sure he's not overly happy that he's been interviewed and then no offer has come because Mandaric has said he's still not sure on who he wants to offer the job too. To people like Royle and Souness that will be a kick in their ego's that a prospective chairman isn't desperate to offer them the job without talking to other potential managers first. No great loss unless the outcome is Peter Reid.

The jury is still out on Jean Tigana? Fook me, then what's the jury say about every other manager we've been linked with because they are are buffoons compared to Tigana. Check what he did at Besiktas and then check what he did at Fulham in his first few years there. Look at the profit he made on Saha, and some of the other bargains he signed that have gone on to make Fulham a massive profit. For every Steve Marlet there was 5 or 6 quality unknown foreigners he signed that did the business for him.

They had bids of near on £10 million for Malbranque in his prime, when he was scoring 10-15 goals a season from midfield, but i'm sure they sold him to Spurs for not much more than they paid for him. A kind of Izzet scenario with us, except Steed is still fairly young. But he was a quality signing. Tigana is exactly what we need, he'd completely transform this club within weeks. If Mandaric has decided against Tigana due to him perhaps costing a bit more than Holloway, Dowie etc then he'll regret it. Because over the course of the next few years he'll have spent far more in sackings, hirings and likewise on shelling out for more mediocre players that his manager thinks are worthy.

By constantly saying he hopes to make an appointment 'in the next few days', he and we look silly when this doesn't materialise. It now seems like we're having great difficulty attracting anyone to the post, which is a real embarrassment. I'd hate to be going into the next match without a manager. After this break we have an extremely hectic late November / December, so lets hope someone is in place this weekend. But with the boss bouncing his grandchildren on his knee in America, I'm not sure how this will happen
