Cheese Me Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 If it is the case all I can say is good luck to Leicester city. I had full respect for Holloway, even read his book which was intersting, but now I realise that it was all words. You've obviously got the cash which simply isn't available at Argyle and maybe holloway will do wonders with it. I can see how he got frustrated with Argyle with the average crowd dropping every season thanks to fans not turning up for one reason or another. But I will say that the fans that we have got which do go to every game possible are probably some of the best fans in the country especially away from home considering th distance we have to travel. When he does arrive and says 'what a wonderfull place leicester is and it's so great to be here', dont beleive a word!, all the best and good luck to Leicester city for the rest of the season, Argyle fan. A sensible one

Nice to hear from a decent Plymouth fan. Hope you find a suitable replacement.

Fair play to you, but I don't think it's case of disloyalty on a grander scale. I think Holloway probably does love Plymouth and loved the people, I imagine he was probably earning more than enough at Plymouth to drive a flash car, have a nice house and educate his kids, too. But how much further could he take Plymouth with the resources you have? This is like having to play with Duplo your whole life and then some big, rich uncle coming along and giving you your first Super Duper Lego set. Yeah we aren't Chelsea or Man Yoo, but he'll have more expansive resources to play with and the chance to make a prettier machine. Like it or not, he's gone "up" in the world of management and this will look much better on his CV if he takes us up - as he has the chance and the ambitious chairman to do - than "got Plymouth to 7th in the Championship." He wasn't a Plymouth fan, he's a Bristol fan, he doesn't have some bloodbond that he MUST obey to the entire west country as a result.
Finn Claw Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 I'd do the same as the Plymouth board if I was them. It is all posturing to ensure they get some compensaton. I wonder what the odds are on Betfair for Holloway becoming our next boss? Is it worth a big punt for small-ish returns?

ibbosuk Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 ive got no idea why hed want to come there either.A dull, pointless town,a souless plastic ground,a club without any identity whatsoever,a nutter chairman wholl probably sack him by february if he hasnt got "big club" leicester into the promotion hunt thats if he doesnt fall out with him anyway due to a "personality" clash. We have a stable, well run honest club that gives its managers time and doesnt have delusions of grandeur like the interchnagebale set of souless nothing clubs in the midlands of which you are very much included. lOOK U NOB You got 12,000 for your last home game and your team is 7th in the Championship (HOW CRAP IS THAT!!) (Plymouth have clearly overachieved under Holloway) He's got his chance to move onto a bigger better stage at LCFC club, and what are your lot going to do ? take a Manager who is currently out of work ?? ((NO CHANCE)) We get sh*t on by Bolton = We sh*t on Plymouth = you go and sh*t on (???) Sh*t Happens
Finnegan Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 Feel free to reopen, Mark. But if you've done the other one I don't see the point in this.
Daggers Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 You lot really are sad!!!!What was that, in a dream of your last night Keep dreaming!!!! Holloways known as a legend down here and even if you do appoint him that bloody chairman of your will sack him after 3 games and we can take him back becuase he is exactly the same type of manager as Martin Allen, he speaks his own opinions Ha! Three games! You idiot, we never sack managers after three games anymore.
morris1234 Posted 23 May 2008 Posted 23 May 2008 Ha! Three games! You idiot, we never sack managers after three games anymore. yeah we wait until we get relegated
