A point will do. Let's make next summer not boring for at least some part.

I reckon we'll get the result we need but I wouldn't go out and put money on it.

Not one I'd like to predict.

but for the for the sake of my record of predicting nearly everything regarding the national team correctly (despit Ultras constant disagrement) since I said we'd go out in the quarter finals of the world cup, I'll go for a edgey draw.

Things look good with our "first choice" centre backs and strikers both ruled out.

I reckon

Carson

Richards

Bridge

Lescott

Campbell

Becks

Cole

Lampard

Gerrard

Barry

Crouch.

Funny actually, I was discusing this with a mate and he said that would work amazingly well (that exact team, in that exact formation) and I said it would if we used in the same way that Roma use their 4-5-1.

I hope this game is every bit as nerve racking and enjoyable as when Australia played Croatia in the world cup

"Harrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyy Kewell has equallised......could this be a historic night for Australia"

I still watch that match on dvd it still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Good Luck England i'm predicting 1-0 England

For McClaren i think it'd be the logical thing to do.

He likes Lampard, but the fans want Barry, he's not going to drop any other midfielders, the only three strikers that McClaren likes are Rooney, Owen, and Crouch. Owen and Rooney both injured

Therfore, with Owen and Rooney both injured , he can play a 4-5-1, still have his favourites playing and keep it a bit more tight than if we were playing a 4-4-2, and hopefully go on to secure the point that we need.

I'll be watching the game tomorrow with a crazy crowd, but I don't think the suspense will be there. If England fail to gain a point against a Croatian team that has already booked its place in Euro 2008, I'll be shocked ... and I'll laugh myself silly, too, though I'll wait until there are less people around me before I bust out.

It would be even funnier if England get their point but Russia put nine past Andorra.

Heard on Sky sports McClown is set to drop Beckham and put in Wright Phillips??????

Surely with Crouch in the squad you need decent crosses.

Robinson was also rumoured to be dropped replaced by Carson, risky move considering such a huge match and all that pressure on an inexpearanced goalkeeper.

If he does do the above and england fail, boy imagine the headlines.

Not looking forward to watching this match much tonight, not under McLaren. I think most could predict how tonight is going to go. Either we'll win the match in the first half and sit back for the second half. Or it will be a dire 0-0 throughout. Either way I can't see it being an enjoyable game of football at all.

When the tournament is in full flow next summer I can actually see us struggling immensely, we always seem to take an age to get going and when you're trying to get out of a group that is not the way to do it. McLaren has got a lot of work to do between now and next summer and he needs to start to think outside the box and play some attacking football if he has it in him!

There seems to be a lot of talk about finishing 2nd being the best bet to getting easier games in the next round, something to do with the Hosts being seeded, wasn't there talk of Germany throwing their last game in an attempt to finish 2nd?

Yeah he has to qualify first. The odds for Croatia to win are so big I might be tempted.

Why would that be funny? You silly yank. Go and watch a game you understand.

I hope Beckham plays, although sounds like he wont. Has he played an England match at Wembley yet(?)

He is definitely the sort of person that we might need to rely on tonight, whether it be a corner or a free kick. As has been said earlier in the thread, with Crouch playing you do need good delivery and it's not always been Wright Phillips' strong point.

Yeah, you're right mate.

Claimed an assist for Terry as well.

Three of the four top seeds will be Switzerland, Austria and Greece (as holders).

If you avoid being in that pot, and then draw (say) Sweden or Poland as well, you'd fancy making the last eight.

I don't think Beckham played against Estonia I was there. Although I have tried to block the whole expearance out of my head, so he might of.

No I'm thinking of the away game. He did play against Brazil though.

Part of me wishes England HAD to win this one. That way we could guarantee a ballsy performance.

I think we might take our foot off the pedal if we go a goal or two up tonight which may backfire.

We might stand a outside change of getting seeded if we win 2-0 this evening, win the group and go above Croatia in the Fifa world rankings, and Portugal don't get through tonight.

Lot of ifs I know, you never know with the UEFA we always seem to get seeded for some bizare reason.
