We're playing second place tonight, 8 points clear with 4 games left, if we win we will be at least 9 clear with two games/12 with three games. So I'll have actually won something for about 4th time in my life, quality.

Played 3 times today in the fooking sun so im frigging knackered. Especially with the wolly hat i have to wear to play in so i can see! First game was against Fenebache the turkish team whom one of which is shagging my housemate. Battered them 7-2 with a hat trick of both goals and assists from yours truly. Second game we were already knackered and went 2 down very quickly but out played inferior opposition either side of half time and were 5-3 up only to fook it up in the last 2 mins as always (well i am a Leicester supporter!). Ended 5-5 and i could barely walk afterwards. Scored 2 set up the other 3. Then i got asked to play in a 3rd game. I was so flattered i got asked to play that i forgot i was knackered and in pain and played the whole game. Really frustrating game where i did everything but score, i can't remember the exact score but we won something like 7-4 or 5. I set up 6 and hit 2 bars both posts and had 2 scrambled off the line. The keeper pulled off countless saves aswell. The bastard. Just had the greatest shower in the history of ever. Ahhhhhhh.

To make matters worse we had a pretty weak squad by our standerds, no Burton player he was playing for Burton and someone else missing ill as well. Celebratery meal next Thursday woooooo. If im honest the total lack of quality in this league takes the shine off the winning the league.
General Smuts Posted 7 May 2008 Author Posted 7 May 2008 Fantastic if not ridiculously tiring day of 5-a-side today. 3 games on the bounce in ridiculous heat with me wearing the woolie hat. Facking knackered! Game 1 against top of the league. 9-1 victory Quality. Takes us up to second and within a point of top. Think i got 1 or 2 but they were mostly assists. Game 2 won 3-0 playing as part of the team top of the league as im mates with them and they had 2 players. Beat the team who were 3rd (a point above us). Which makes it more like a 3 horse race than 4. Not sure i score or assisted in this game actually. Even missed a peno as i was so tired i kick the ball straight at the keeper even after shimmying and sending him the wrong way Game 3 against a team on the same points as us in the Championship we won 3-1. It was the giant asian monster's team which made it even harder trying to battle against that big fecker whilst basically crawling. Scored the best goal ive ever score in 5-a-side in the first minute of the game beating all 4 of thier outfield players and then slotting past the keeper. I swiftly subbed myself cos i was fecking done! Jolly good times.

The 100% record went last week and tonight was the last team who could have any hope of beating us so should go the whole season unbeaten at least.

I just read that as you lost and then you said youd go unbeaten. Its early so that took me a while to figure out.

Played four lost four. Having said that it's hardly a suprse I'm suprised we've managed to stay up this long (5 years) with the teams that are in that league. Half the teams have players playing semi pro.

Still only a point off the top and stay 2nd with us having to play the champs still. Played tonight but needn't have bothered as it was a bit fruitless and tetchy between me and another lad on my team who refused to pass the ball even after saying 'Lets pass it about today boys and us 2 up front will track back as much as possible.' Leaving me to track back and defend whilst he plonked himself up top and shot at every oppurtunity. Bellend. Luckily the other team were shite and we won 4-2. The **** scored all 4 but then if you have 40 shots your bound to score some. I didn't play especially badly though so im not too put out. Just wish the 4 others in the team got a bit of the ball.

I scored a couple including a tasty volley from the corner of the area but wasn't particularly great tbh. Still 2nd in the premiership but are nowhere in division 1. 3 games to go including a grudge match against our mates who are top of the league.

The tiny spanish conquestadore that lives in your pocket and cant spell good Silliest decision i ever made playing 5-a-side tonight i literally cannot walk! Paaaaaaaain! We only had 4 players so i was running around like a raj all game. Scored 4 somehow and even sillier we drew 5-5. Not a clue how!

We have 5 players thankfully! 2 of which play for the first team, one of which is the leagues top goalscorer (me surprisingly) and the other one is my back up keeper and my best player (imo). We may actually do well here. The team were playing are the defending champs and are my mates, so much so in fact i had a lecture with them about an hour ago. Friendly rivalry and THE game of the season. The game we have to play straight after it will be such an anti climax!
General Smuts Posted 21 May 2008 Author Posted 21 May 2008 Title game today. The big one. We lost. Only just though. I played shite and the two first teamers played well. Kept us in it. Only went down to a dodgy peno decision so im chuffed tbh, can't complain. Theres four points in it now and there all breaking up so if at the very least i can find 5 players to turn up for the last 2 games and get 4 points our superior goal difference should see us through. Touch and go though and not the way i would've wanted to win the league. But beggars can't e choosers! Second game we played really well even with me hobbling around on one leg for the last 2 minutes, ended up winning 3-1 and blowing thier unbeaten record. Love it!

Manwell Pablo Posted 13 June 2008 Posted 13 June 2008 Wednesday nights leagues finished. Indoor on a Sunday nights still going, but we've collapsed after 5 seasons of top league football and will be lucky not to finish bottom. Standerd is ridiculous.
