There should be a sweepstake on this.. :)

As MON has ruled himself out, Mourinho is my preferred choice.

Though it's strange how everyone forgets how cynical and nasty his Porto side was, before he left them for Chelski..

Would folk on here accept England playing like that, as long as we kept winning?

Yes.

It's all about results isn't it?

I cant believe that we managed to fook this up after the Isreal win.

Anyway, back to the manager issue and I have mixed feelings. I am a big fan of Harry Redknapp but think his skills lie in the transfer market, especially when it comes on signing players with African origin. In his favour is that he seemingly likes to play attacking football and doesn't seem to be ageist as he has bought some quality oldies down at Pompey like Campbell and James so maybe he will pick an attacking team, regardless of age but on ability. I think thats important as all I have heard from the pundits since my return to England is that we must go for youth but as I saw it, SWP didnt pick up the runner for Croatia`s second goal and Becks cam eoff the bench to set one up whilst Carson made two errors and Robinson was dropped. Back to Harry, he hasn't won anything and its questionable whether or not he would be able to be tactically astute when he needs to be as he hasn't had that experience of locking horns in European club competitions.

From the rest I`d put MON ahead of Harry as he is a motivator and has had decent experience in Europe with Celtic but other than that it would have to be someone foreign.

Its about time as fans we all woke up and realised that International football is about picking a system and working to understand to play it blindfolded almost. You only have to look at Greece as an example. Lucky to win the last Euros with a weak but organized side and this year they top there group with what most Greece fans see as a worse squad than before. They have some German dude managing them and they are well drilled and play to 100% of there potential but on paper, are crap individually!

Im not sure if we actually "get it" though when it comes to International football but someone like MON or even Moaninho may be the type of person we need to guide us through.

I think it will be Fabio Capello

Any manager who can dominate at one club like he did with Milan and then win Seria A with Roma and La Liga with Real (twice) despite only being there for a season at a time must be respected! He is tactically superb but quite defensive though and I think we generally want our cake and want to eat it! (ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK)

He would have been my choice except that he doesn't speak English.

Mourinho ready to talk to England

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has expressed a cautious interest in taking the vacant England manager's job.

Mourinho, who left Chelsea in September, said he would be happy to talk to the Football Association.

"You will have to speak to the FA to see if they are interested in offering me the job," he told The Sun newspaper.

"I cannot say what I think until they say they are interested. Tell the FA to come and get me. We will have to wait and see, but I rule nothing out."

Mourinho would be a popular choice to replace Steve McClaren at the helm with England because of his hugely impressive record with Chelsea and Porto.

He won two Portuguese championships, the Uefa Cup and the Champions League with Porto, before leaving to win two Premier League titles, two League Cups and the FA Cup with the Blues.

The 44-year-old had been tipped to stay in club management in Europe, having previously suggested that he would only be interested in coaching his native Portugal at international level.

FA chief executive Brian Barwick has said that nationality "would not be an issue" when it came to appointing the next England coach.

Barwick will lead the FA's search for a new coach, alongside FA development director Sir Trevor Brooking.

The FA has already had to listen to several potential candidates rule themselves out of contention for the position with Aston Villa's Martin O'Neill, West Ham's Alan Curbishley and Newcastle's Sam Allardyce all distancing themselves from speculation.

More to follow.

I think Moanihno is a cock. I'm not a huge fan of his... well, just him.

Having said that, I'd like for him to give it a go at international level with the English national team.

Jose for England. :englandsmile4wf:
