hairy Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Cant see many wanting the job. You are a hiding to nothing. There is no rush to appoint a new manager. Our next competitive match will be in the world cup qualifiers which will start sept / oct next year. Lets just hope we are seeded so we dont end up having to play any good teams because unless things change and fast we will struggle again!
Sparky Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 how would people feel about harry redknapp ? he wants the job and perhaps best english option . Im pretty much same as most people on here Jose would be awesome as would MON.
Simi Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Allardyce rules himself out. Still mad about losing out the first time?
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Mourinho. Everyday, Sadly don't think he'd do it.Right I wanna say something about O'Neill, don't get me wrong he's a great manager and I think he would do a ok job as England manager, BUT I think he is slightly overrated, I think the over performed at Leicester (Not a bad thing at all), he then went to Celtic...Scotland, Not the hardest league to manage in, He then took time out the game to look after his ill wife, and is not a Villa doing ok but not doing that well. Wash your mouth out with soap !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 1 of 4 would be, Capello, MON, Jose, Redknapp (with Shearer involved in some capacity {I honestly thought he was gonna break down in tears last night})....

I'm with you slightly on that one, I wouldn't like to see O'Neill take over as England gaffer. He's not exactly set the world alight at Aston Villa, but still doing a good job. If he does get then fair play, but I'd pick a few people above him.
Durnerz Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Mourinho. Has the British press in the palm of his hand, would protect his players from it all and is a terrific phsycologist and man manager, would drag the underperformers such as Lampard back into form. I'd be confident he could do big things for us.
Webbo Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Steve Coppell ticks a lot of boxes for people like me who would prefer an English manager, unfortunately I don't think he has the personality to cope with the pressure. Redknapp and Alladyce both have a smell of dodgy dealing (allegedly) which must rule them out. I am not really convinced by MON, not pulling up any trees with Villa, Morhino would be too controversial for the FA so that realistically leaves Lippi or Capello. Who do I want? Not got a clue.
Fat Ron Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Nooooooooo B*stard...... Lets hope he changes his mind....

Manwell Pablo Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 we're hardly ****ed we only need 2nd don't we? I'm telling you it all needs is a decent manager and we can get results against anyone.

We only need a manager that can pick a side that know each other and is fairly balanced. Let them play with a bit of freedom for a change.
Wycombe Fox Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/i...als/7108992.stm O'Neill not interested
Joe. Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 Oops. Seems nobody wants this job (except Capello). Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him come in actually, and I wouldn't complain.
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 ah well, Capello and Redknapp are two people I've got time for so And if Harry ball's England up and ruins his career I know a chairman he would be willing to help him revive it
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 King Louis wants the job... I remember when Glenn had his rant on RL moan in about us nicking him off AZ, hilarious. "Louis Van Gaal thats who we want him, we're a bigger club than AZ, he's the bloke to take City forward." England manager. Hmmmm, I'm a sceptic, I think he's trying to bail himself out of the hash he's made of AZ this season.
Simi Posted 26 November 2007 Posted 26 November 2007 King Louis wants the job... 'After he reveals he turned down the job before!' Exactly how many people were ahead of McLaren?
