Simi Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 Massive amount of booing going on at the moment. Also chants of "You don't know what you're doing" after bringing off N Zogbia and Emre. They need to realise they're not going to be a top four team over night and get behind Allardyce 'cos they wont have a chance of getting a better manager than him. "Big Sam for England now" It's not stopped there... "Sacked in the morning, you're getting sacked in the mornnningg"
Raj Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 To be fair Ched,Newcastle must have spent shed load sof big money over the years. Freddie Shephard might be a cock but he has always spent alot( i know he aint there any more) so i can understand abit why they are fcuked off. Mind you,im sure with Big Sam they thought this would be the year!!!!

Mind you,im sure with Big Sam they thought this would be the year!!!! Allardyce came out himself and said something like it was a 5 year plan to get them where he wanted them to be. Liverpool have totally outclassed them all over the pitch, Torres should have had four. Gerrard playing very, very well.

By the way, i lost abit of respect for Rafa after his mardy arse press conference yday. Got a rollocking from his Yank Bosses who said he wouldnt get more cash to spend and kept repeating something like 'I must concentrate on training and coaching the players' MARDY BASTARD!
purpleronnie Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 Maybe big sam shouldn't have ruled himself out of the england job.

"Big Sam for England now" It's not stopped there... "Sacked in the morning, you're getting sacked in the mornnningg" I suspect these chants came from the visiting scousers. The geordies were silent for virtually the entire game. Allardyce hasn't been helped by having an injury-prone squad. But some of his selections have seemed a little strange. Newcastle look a mid-table side at best and that will not satisfy the expectations of their fans or owner. One thing that REALLY annoyed me this afternoon was Sky's continued arse-licking of Steven Gerrard. He may have been quality today (albeit against weak opposition), but too often this season (for England and in the Champions League) he has gone missing in crunch games. Hyping him up in this way does neither him nor Sky any favours.
Jay Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 Big Sams days are numbered already!! The Newcastle fans don't like him and have taken a big dislike to his style of play!! taking off attacking players for defensive minded players doesn't go down well in that part of the world I'm sure Shearer will be waiting by the sidelines to stick the knife in his back, I'm sure he will be Newcastle manager by the end of the season he seems to be talking himself up at the minute

Ultra Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 The booing and chanting at the substitutions was from the home fans. Not so sure about the other chants though.. Also how much off their heads must the sponsors have been to name Alan Smith as their man of the match? He was arguably the worst of a very poor bunch...

Also how much off their heads must the sponsors have been to name Alan Smith as their man of the match? He was arguably the worst of a very poor bunch... I'd find it very patronizing if that happened to us when we'd just been abused by Liverpool at home, but what the sponsor wants the sponsor will get I suppose!
Brainy Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 I was listening to the radio, so I ddin't watch the game but they did have a reporter at Newcastle, and he thought the boo's (after the first goal) were directed at Gerrard and the whole Euro 2008 situation. It's probably been mentioned in the thread somewhere but I thought i'd just point it out... Anyway - I can understand why they're booing. They haven't really had much success up there the past few years. They want to be seeing decent performances at least, and their last two home games they've conceded 7 and scored 1. They're inconsistent like ourselves so that adds to the problem. I don't see them being a top four side under Allardyce anyway, I think most of the fans realise that. Yes he needs to be given a chance but Newcastle shouldn't be getting thrashed by teams like Portsmouth at home.

"Big Sam for England now" It's not stopped there... "Sacked in the morning, you're getting sacked in the mornnningg" The fans were indeed a bit bad. Why they booed the substitutions of Emre and N'Zogbia, I don't know. No Newcastle player stood out and especially N'Zogbia was completely ineffective. On the Beeb I noticed a comment by a Newcastle fan that the team selection was awful. I don't know how Big Sam could've selected a better squad than that though... They seem frustrated more than anything else.
lookwhaticando Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 As elsewhere, any England players were booed - that'd be just Gerrard since there were no others out there. As was usual during the Roeder era, lots of boos were heard at half time and full time. The home crowd were cheering when they realized Milner was warming up... then, when they found out he was replacing "the Zog" the cheers turned to boos once again. The fans just behind Big Sam could be seen mouthing the words to "You don't know what you're doing". It was a massively negative atmosphere from the get go. Standard operating procedure for Newcastle, though. I wonder if Mike Ashley, as a Newcastle fan, joined in with chants of Sack The Board.

Koke Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 Newcastle is one ****ed up job anyway. Who would want to accept that job and take the risk of backclash with the fans after 5 minutes into the season.

Nationwider Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 Everything about Newcastle United FC is just hilarious. They're my favourite comedy team.
Koke Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 Nationwider, your sig is top class, second to none.
The Stig Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 Newcastle need to do what we should do. In the words of Take That have a little patience.
lookwhaticando Posted 24 November 2007 Posted 24 November 2007 Who would want to accept that job and take the risk of backclash with the fans after 5 minutes into the season. Sounds a bit like the England job, really. Everything about Newcastle United FC is just hilarious. They're my favourite comedy team. I've a soft spot for Newcastle as well... they're interesting, at least.

From the reports on StandUpSitDown it seemed to be the home fans singing anti-gaffer songs.
