FilboFox Posted 2 December 2007 Author Posted 2 December 2007 Erm... why didn't you buy a ticket? Well I was just coming back from town and I wasn't any where near the stadium when it kicked off... arrived late and the ticket office was closing... might have bought if I had come in time but wasn't sure if I would stay the whole match... By the sounds of it, I don't think that I missed much though... the Southampton fans are saying that we were the worst team that they have played all season!
kevinwpratt Posted 2 December 2007 Posted 2 December 2007 To be fair we all earn the right to boo when the players aren't performing.... but when you think about it booing isn't going to make them play any better... Lets just hope that once Ollie settles we wont feel the need to boo
Lovejoy Posted 2 December 2007 Posted 2 December 2007 i was back of e1 and i stood up for 'stand up if you love leicester' only to realze no-one stood up and made myself look like a right nonce oh well, i join in with chants but i can understand why people dont want to... I joined in!

davieG Posted 2 December 2007 Posted 2 December 2007 well i was in row HH and i looked like a right lemon! my friends starting laughing at me, i was the one with the horn and got on everyones nerves Ooooo Errrrrr What a Carry On
Raj Posted 2 December 2007 Posted 2 December 2007 The atmosphere at The Walkers has been an issue for years now. It WILL NEVER BE LIKE IT WAS AT FILBO! We have to forget about Filbos atmosphere. We have witnessed shit week after week for Years now. We,and i speak as a ST holder for many many years pay decent money,NOT to be entertained but just to see our football team win a game NOW and AGAIN!!! I don't boo if players are crap and dont expect me just to sit and applaud and shout just for the sake of it. I DO 'Get behind the team' and i DO NOT accept the critisism that us mere fans do not try and help the team. Im fooked off with managers, players etc...blaming the fans for no atmosphere here. Bigger clubs than us have atmosphere problems, its not just the Great Leicester City FC. We have proved if we have something resembling half decent football we DO get behind the team and now and again we do make a noise. The club have tried different things to make the atmosphere better and the Fans Forum have had meetings about it. But at the end of the day, fans aint robots and cant just imitate seals and applaud when watching crap! But it wont be a fortress and teams wont be scared of coming here... Im rambling now...sorry!!!!

Raj, looking for a serious response here. As I (we) know you represent a lot of the supporters etc and meet the club on regular occasions. When the atmosphere issue comes up, you seem to like saying "it's been shit for ages, accept it" "it will be better when we're winning". Is this the general attitude from inside the club regarding the atmosphere at the Walkers now? Just curious more than anything at this stage.

Obviously they know that if we are winning it makes everyones job alot easier and easier for the fans to create a better atmosphere. We shad a meeting recently about helping to create a better atmosphere Ie The 'Hey Jude' music when the players come out, hoping it will get everyone on their feet and start singing. I think its pretty good, dont you? Also they've introduced the horns,Jobber with his drum,Birch trying to whip the crowd up as the players come on. Other things were suggested but its matters of Health and safety which seem to quell certain things. H and S seem to have A BIG influence.as you well know
Lovejoy Posted 2 December 2007 Posted 2 December 2007 well i was in row HH and i looked like a right lemon! my friends starting laughing at me, i was the one with the horn and got on everyones nerves I was in FF and you didn't get on my nerves Fooking prawno's behind me did though. These two women powdering their noses during the match (honestly) and discussing tv and christmas shopping all game.
Daz.I Posted 2 December 2007 Posted 2 December 2007 We do need to sort the atmosphere out it's shite. as said the football is and the fans will thrive off that. new songs needed.

Oh, I know all about the Health and Safety, Raj, don't worry about that! Thing is, they think they have more power than they actually do. When's the next fans forum meeting? PJ has gone cold on me after he said he'd be in touch.

H and S seem to have A BIG influence.as you well know You can do all the manipulating of the crowd, music, horns, drums but they all mean diddly squat the only things that get the crowd going are some attacking/exciting football and the hatred of the ref / some oppo player. The only way you're going to get a consistently good atmosphere is to have consistently exciting games, they do not have to even be wining games but they do have to be games where the crowd actually believes we can win. After 3 wins at home in 2007 no one actually believes any more that we can win, the crowds confidence is shattered. Even then I'd bet a £ to a penny that if we started wining every game easily, I wish after a while the crowd would take it for granted and there would still be games played in front of a morgue like atmosphere.

PJ is a diamond Ched, but im afraid he has No or little clout. you know who make the decisions. We aint got a date for the next meeting, might be in early Jan. Lisa or I will let everyone know when it is. But perhaps people can start thinking about what else we can do. REALISTICALLY! P.S I still bug them to swap the Kop with the Family stand..one day it may happen...i might be well dead by then.
Raj Posted 2 December 2007 Posted 2 December 2007 Surely at the very least they could play the music before KO louder My man. They cant get it 100% right. If its too loud you would have 'Its too fcuking loud'Brigade. Nothing the club does will make EVERYONE 100% happy...except Winning!!!(and im sure some will still moan!!! )

He said he would be in touch about a meeting with the club, he hasn't. He sorted us out with a meeting for N Block. I know him personally through my step dad so I have no doubts about him being a decent person. Believe me Raj, we are thinking, a lot.

Sods Posted 2 December 2007 Posted 2 December 2007 Right atmosphere. I think we all know its quite bad. I think there is a big difference in why people go to football games nowadays, and some of them really have not got a clue. Im in F1 and there is absoulute bufoon in front of me that slags of carl cort, de vries, newton, maybury, kenton whenever they do something wrong. So i anticipate this and point out everything they do right just to wind him up. He always leaves early and says im going this is shit, and then says to his mate 'see you next week'. What the fook mate if its that bad dont come back! Ive sort of gone of the idea of saying the atmosphere is bad because there is nothing i can possibly do that will have a majour affect. So why should i get worked up about it, because i go to watch leicester for enjoyment. I sing and start songs at evry opputinity and want something to change soon. But without others doing the same it will always be poor and we will have something to moan about. We had a big chance with the N block, if you thought the atmosphere was bad you would of joined us there. Unfotunately a lot of people like to sit back and moan and not help when it is needed.
Raj Posted 2 December 2007 Posted 2 December 2007 Raj i know you have probably said before but what do they say when you ask about the kop being moved to the family stand. In principle it would be something they would like to do. BUT our good old Health and Safety regime would not let it happen. Also, there are people on the Fans Forum Committee who object to being moved from the Kop so can you imagine getting EVERYONE in the Kop to agree to move?? There are people who even refuse to move from the Kop to the Family Stand 'cos they dont want the Sun getting in their eyes!!! Can you believe that one!!!!??? It would undoubtedly help the atmosphere having the bulk of the crowd near the away fans. Another alternative was to move the away fans in the corner of The Kop and the A and L stand but logistically that wont happen as you would lose alot of our home fans from the A and L Stand. Also we'd need more Policing to accomodate the away fans having to waving to walk past the bulk of the home fans in a safe manner... The Club should have had the Kop Near the away fans from Day one.
