The weekend was agony

Before going to the match on Saturday I had toothache. It got worse during, even worse on the way home. By Saturday evening it was agony.

By Monday morning I had taken twice the recommended doseages of 2 differant painkillers & still didn't get much relief.

I'm not asking for sympathy just your experiencies on what my dentist has planned for me - A week of anti-biotics & then, next monday some root-canal work!

It sound horrendous to me. Has anyone any experience of this? Would it be better to just have the tooth out?

Apparently - he said - I'm looking at about 3 more visits to complete the treatment.

Ouch, that does sound extremely painful.

Sorry, have no experience of this kind of dental work yet.

And I am hoping NEVER to have to go through it.

On the plus side, surely whatever they do won't be quite as bad as this pain (and probably will be shorter-lived)?

Good luck!!!

I have had ligament damage, broken ankles, footy studs lodged into my shin and all sorts of injuries but the good old pain of a toothache at its finest is the worst of the lot lol.

Its an absolute barsteward pain at its worst.

I will never forget my only visit to the school dentist as a nine year old.

The saddistic bastard performed two fillings on my back teeth with no painkiller whatsoever and clearly delighted in every second of suffering he put me through.

Fifty years on my hatred for the guy has never diminished and my thoughts on what I'd like to do to him wouldn't bear describing.

My parents were so shocked they never stopped apologising for sanctioning that afternoon.
