I was going to print the list off but lately my printers playing up. only printing magenta now and I put four new cartrages in last week. It wasnt printing at all the other day. Anyway I've copyied the list to Word and will have a look over the coming week. I've noticed Cilla Black and crack go together as a rhyme which may be interesting. :scarf:

I've made a start and used one of the hardest (longest) which seems to have been ommitted on the last list (Wezleylowski) I've also used Cilla Black, crack crumpet, yummy and others. The 12 days of Christmas is a good idea but it's taking the easy way out. Strictly speaking poetry does not have to rhyme. Free verse uses a group of words in various line lengths. I remember reading how somebody sent extracts from Yellow Pages to a publication that offered to help poets. They accepted it and said how great it was.

But I won't do that either I will try and make my poem have some sort of rythmic pattern to it. It won't be perfect and there will be criticism no doubt. But the task is more difficult because of the choice of words. I set the one word limit because I did not want to have to use long phrases in a short line which would limit the words that I use. The one word selection helps in a way as two or more may have a natual connection. I think three will have to be the max though.

Edit: It is going to be difficult to keep the poem suitable for the younger posters on here given some of the choices of words although it would not surprise me if the younger ones are the ones that suggested them. :scarf:
