Brainy Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 Im sick of Saturday afternoons now. Who has the better squad of players? Leicester or Plymouth? I'd honestly say Leicester but Plymouth have the quality to grind out results like today against Watford and a few months back at Charlton. I'd seriously consider swapping relegation battles in the Championship to some success in League One. I've seen a few others on here suggest this but im sure the fact that we'll be losing our record of being one of (8/9?) clubs never to have played outside of the top two tiers of football in our history would upset a few people.. Or would it? Does the record actually mean anything?

And I don't think I could enjoy League 1 success. I'd prefer Championship mundanity. It's almost as hard to get into the Championship as it is to get into the Prem, and just think how far away from that we would be.

I'm no longer proud to say i support Leicester.
fishfingers Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 Plymouth have decent team spirit and morale (created by ollie and continued by Sturrock). We have a team constantly being told they are crap. Do the maths? Ollie should have handled this situation differently, and doesn't appear to be the motivator we need. He's already blamed us, the fans, refs, players etc never himself. 4-4-2 might have worked at his previous clubs, but we need a change for our current players. We did have the best defence in the championship before he arrived.

I'd have to agree with you on the first bit we are better than them but on form they grind results out. for the basic fact they have players like Barry Hayles and Ebanks-Blake who can score goals on a consistant basis. I'd much rather struggle in this league it would be degrading for a club like ours to be in the lower tier of the football league , in the situation we're in we can change it around within a few matches, whereas in League 1 we'd do well overall but we'd be down there all year until we bounced back up and it would get boring because when we came back up we'd just be in the same boat struggling at championship level.
purpleronnie Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 Our league is crap there isnt a team in it thats premiership class. One week some crap side beats a top side, the following week its reversed. Its rubbish.

I don't mean to cause you any offence Walkers, but that ranks as just about the most pointless, poorly constructed, confusing and ludicrous post ever ever typed within the LCFC forum. This isn't a debate - I'm just telling you. I know because I've read most of them.

Simi Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 Yeah, lets get relegated and win some football matches. One step closer to the Premiership.
dandannieldanok Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 Getting relegated would not bring a guarantee of success anyway. In fact I can imagine our home form getting even worse with practically every team coming to the Walkers and sitting back, every fan knows the team can't cope with those tactics.
Joe. Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 Yes I'd definitely much rather see my team slide down the Football League and face even more humiliation. That would be fantastic.
