Manwell Pablo Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Not when he's in our first team and not when he plays for his Country. I thought he did play right back for Iran but not for Perpolis?
Fat Ron Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Not when he's in our first team and not when he plays for his Country. Ok... Ollie drop him... He's sh*t.
davieG Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 I thought he did play right back for Iran but not for Perpolis? Well I knew it was one or the other!
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Well I knew it was one or the other! I wish we could drop this stupid debate without knowing Thracian will just drag it back back up again as he likes "discussions" no matter how boring or repetative.
Thracian Posted 19 December 2007 Author Posted 19 December 2007 HE IS A ****ING RIGHT BACK!!!!!!'Kinell... He was playing right midfield for City. And is not IMO a right back anyway.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 What's the problem? Well we lost both games for a start and scored one sodding goal. Kaebi didn't have a shot in either that I recall and didn't lay on a single chance. Nothing particularly new in that.Furthermore in accommodating him, our team conceded goals at more than double the historic rate we've been conceding them previously this season. One game in which we had a man sent off after 39 minutes away from home against a team who have won every home game apart from one, which they drew. A game where we were holding our own until the sending-off at which point Kaebi was shunted to right-back and back again. I'd say the number of goals conceded there were down to the sending-off and poor defending, not "accommodating" a right-winger. One game in which he got subbed at half-time and the goal we conceded while he was on the pitch wasn't his fault in the slightest. A game where everybody was pretty dreadful by all accounts. And well, I'd say the number of goals conceded there were down to poor defending, not "accommodating" a right-winger. Argumentative mood today.

Our first team should not be an Experimental Xl. Using 22 players has been no help at all, I referred to his endless changes last week. Holloway has full-length videos available of every player. And Megson didn't put Kaebi in the team having personally taken the trouble to watch him in the reserves because he didn't appear to like what he saw. We all know the damage of watching DVDs of players, look at the woeful squad we've acquired from that!! Personally I think Ollie was right to put Kaebi in the first 11. He is quite a unique case, and had a good reputation before joining. And after hearing of his intent to possibly leave if he doesnt breakthrough, I think it would have been a big mistake not to trial him in the first team for a couple of games before letting him leave. As for people consistently referring back to Megson and his record, I totally disagree. He played 7 defenders and there were no signs of attacking threat, only a future of bore draws. Personally, I would prefer to play a system that we can build on for the future, that is attacking and exciting. Ollie is playing this system and testing his squad at first team level, to see who will fit in to his way and style. This is the formation and tactics he is known for and so anyone come January who has shown they can't fit in to that, will be dropped, replaced and even sold. What I would like to see, is individual players who want to be here and play for their future, making stand out performances, i.e King for one!
Fat Ron Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 He was playing right midfield for City. And is not IMO a right back anyway. So he isnt a striker then.....?? Just want to clarify that before I comment on your posts about his lack of goals and shots.....

Can't pick and chosse your sources to suit Thracian

Manwell Pablo Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 They don't count anymore (until Sheehan wins it again) God, bring on the Christmas holidays, this is boring as hell. Two more days! Then no Thracian for 11 days, unless I see him in the Swan, which is fine, as for some reason in real life he's normal, not a crazy youth team obsessive.

My point was that his selection was more to do with Ollie trying out players rather than your assessment of it being him being 'cut so much slack he could get promoted to the first team on the back of some piss-poor reserve team peformances'. If Ollie picked his team based on watching videos of our players' performances so far this season, he'd have a squad of about 2. Perhaps he'd prefer to see them 1st hand whilst under his managment, rather than under someone else's who may've employed different tactics and formations and told them to fulfil their roles in different ways to how he'd like them to do it. Just a thought. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, just musing as to why he might select players when in your opinion they've done nothing to warrant getting that chance.

That's because he's grooming you* I'd like to point out this is a joke, in no way am I actually saying that Thracian is a groomer... I mean look at his beard, it's obvious he doesn't groom.

Then no Thracian for 11 days, unless I see him in the Swan, which is fine, as for some reason in real life he's normal, not a crazy youth team obsessive. Nothing would please me more than for City to pick up some quality older players - but I am talking quality, hand-picked, fit-for-task specialist footballers - and for the youth presence in our on-field team to therefore be reduced. There is no question the young players have merited their places based on alternatives available but that's a reflection on the ability of those alternatives not because I think we should have four or five inexperienced youth players in any one Championship side, especially at this time. Of the five ex-Academy regulars, Stearman, Wesolowski, Mattock, Sheehan and King I'd say we should use a maximum of three on the field at any one time, and more likely two. Indeed I expected that to be the case this season but was sadly mistaken. But that way I believe the younger players would develop better and within the framework of the sort of side that would be more likely to help that development. Even if Gradel returned I would say the same. The team needs strength, resilience amd knowhow as well as speed, skill and enterprise.
Calum McDermott Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Sorry, only Irish/British youth team players are entitiled to "Slack" RACIST

Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 I do not you shit breath. :D I don't like what Rivals have done with Fox Fanzine. Seems like the locals have all upped sticks to Vital Football too. I remember when it was all hills round there.
