Brenfox Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Off topic but may i just say after being a long time lurker on here(and soon to be an unpopular one) i think Thrac gets a very undeserved hard time on here. There i said it. Cue the backlash!

There i said it. Cue the backlash! Most of it is just arguing for the hell of it. He winds people up as much as vice versa. He knows I'll import a crate of Barbar's for him if Louis Dodds ever makes a first-team appearance.
Sepehr Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 I've always seen positives in Kaebi's play and have mentiioned them many times. That’s fair enough, but what I am trying to get from you is not anything to do with the reserve games. Kaebi has played 135 minutes of first team football for you club. 90 minutes of this was played against Ipswich, and since you continuously dodge my questions about that specific game with referrals to his reserve games, I am going to go ahead and assume you didn't watch the match (feel free to correct me). I personally cannot see how you can judge a player's ability to gel with the first team from 45 minutes on the pitch. Again I don't mean to disrespect you so if you did in fact go to the match I apologize in advance.

Manwell Pablo Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 In other Kaebi news, I relised today I've been carrying a picture of him in my wallet for over 18 months, true story. Kind Regards Racist, 23
Thracian Posted 20 December 2007 Author Posted 20 December 2007 That’s fair enough, but what I am trying to get from you is not anything to do with the reserve games. Again I don't mean to disrespect you so if you did in fact go to the match I apologize in advance. YOU, for your own reasons, might wish to judge Kaebi on his brief appearances with the first team but I will judge him from all that I've seen - which includes matches in the Pontins League, Pontins League Cup, County Cup (3-1 defeat for Hinckley!) and the first team. I was right about Ferreira months ago, right about Djiziri and nothing so far has indicated I'm wrong about Kaebi. I'm not even convinced about the MoM poll cos I just don't believe there were over 50 FoxesTalk regulars at the Hull game cos only about a dozen gave player ratings. And, if there were 50+, why would any of them vote Kaebi MoM when he was subbed off so early having had one decent run and no positive effect whatsoever? Time for a stewards enquiry.
Thracian Posted 20 December 2007 Author Posted 20 December 2007 how is the new freezer thrac? Installed and running fine.

So, are you saying that its impossible for you to analyze one isolated game? I have already acknowledged that you know more about Kaebi's appearance in the second string teams. What I find disturbing is that, while you have not even watched Kaebi play a single 90 minute game with the first team you come on this website (a website that Kaebi has mentioned he visits in his Persian interviews) and in a sarcastic and degrading manner declare him to be a lost cause, and put down his supporters. You want to know my reasons for judging Kaebi on his brief appearances with the first team, my reason is that the only way for Kaebi to show whether he is cut out for this league is to play in the league. Reserve teams and reserve games are a world apart from actual league matches, and there is no way to judge Kaebi one way or the other only by watching reserve games.
The People's Hero Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 I want this entire thread read in monotone, by Alexikokopops at my funeral. You look like Dennis Wise. How about now? Babylon DOES look like Dennis Wise. And his sh it stinks bad.

Manwell Pablo Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 I have seriously been carrying a picture of Hossein Kaebi in my wallet for over 18 months (12 months before we signed him) by the way, I knew I recognised the name and face from somewhere.
The People's Hero Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 I look nothing like him, you are as deluded as the Plymouth fans. You'd look great in green, Babs. Ravishing in fact.
Thracian Posted 20 December 2007 Author Posted 20 December 2007 So, are you saying that its impossible for you to analyze one isolated game? Reserve teams and reserve games are a world apart from actual league matches, and there is no way to judge Kaebi one way or the other only by watching reserve games. a) Seeing I've hardly mentioned them I can only imagine your reference to "putting down" his supporters concerns my belief that they've voted for him as MoM when they didn't attend the game. It specifically asks that only people who attend should vote otherwise it makes a mockery of the whole exercise. b) To be more than fair to Kaebi I've taken the trouble to watch four fifths of all the football he has played in a Leicester shirt, which is probably far more than a lot of his supporters and I judge him exactly the same as everyone else - on what he does. If you go through my match ratings you will see I've been not harder on him than on any other player. c) Reserve games are indeed a world away from first team games. They are a lot easier and just the place where a class footballer should stand out. Kaebi has not stoood out. d) All the talk in the world won't change what's gone. You can be as biased as you like but the only thing that will change my views on Kaebi will be his playing well on the football field. Especially as I have no idea on what basis he got into the first team anyway. It certainly wasn't anything to do with his performances at right midfield cos he hardly every played there and I wonder what people like Gradel (exiled to Bournemouth) or Odhiambo (consistently steady but ignored) think of that. However as Kaebi's in the team his task is simple. To maintain some width and to do things which create/score goals. That means taking people on, passing and moving in attacking areas, getting behind the opposition defence, constantly posing defenders problems. It's what right wingers are supposed to do. Perhaps if he reads this he will get the message. It couldn't really be easier for him to succeed. Because its years since we had a right midfielder worthy of the name and I've said so loud and clear. In fact if you think I'm harsh on your friend you should go back and read my views on Sylla ("worst player I've seen in a City shirt") and Low (who was just as bad but not over such a long period). Newton too has been disappointing this season so, with Gradel elsewhere, the way is clear and it only needs Kaebi to show, for once, that he's a good player.

He has alot more to offer than alot of our players, give him time to adapt to championship football!

Dames Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 He's a skinny git coming into a rough and tumble league. He's not gunna stand out in a team that doesn't play to his strengths. He's not gunna be able to perform in a team that cannot play simple and basic football. From what i've gathered he's a player that likes the ball played into feet just ahead of him giving him something to run onto, He posseses the pace and simple skill to get by his man but he can't do this when the ball is hoofed upto him and he's having to come inside and challenge 6ft defenders for an aerial ball. That said some half hearted attempts in the reserves and a series of niggling injuries combined with language problems probably means he's missed his chance here.

So why put him in such a team cos there's no logical reason to think it's going to change just yet?
Hugo Sanchez Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 If he thinks he is crap, then fooking deal with it already. Its his opinion and what happened to the freedom of speech ? Its clear to most people that Kaebi isn't and never will be good enough for this league.
Dames Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 So why put him in such a team cos there's no logical reason to think it's going to change just yet? Maybe Ollie thought he would have had a positive impact, He didn't bank on the players being so clumsy and stupid.
Thracian Posted 21 December 2007 Author Posted 21 December 2007 Maybe Ollie thought he would have had a positive impact, He didn't bank on the players being so clumsy and stupid. If he'd done any sort of homework it was never going to be otherwise.

That is a very good post. but the bit i've highlighted, i'm talking first team here, he's barely played with any of them, not even had 2 full games, cannot speak English. Once he's settled into first team affairs properly, see if it's the same then.
Babylon Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Seems you only read my Kaebi comments. Jesus give thrac' a break, for goodness sake.
