Heartener for Kaebi fans?

From the BBC:

=========

This was tucked away at the bottom of a Holloway interview and said so much about certain decisions...

"I'm looking for people who when they get knocked down, they get back up again."

Kaebi for captain then.

We need a man to lead by example and Kaebi was like a rubber toy at Hull. Every time he was touched he bounced down onto the floor only to rebound again, moments later, non the worse for wear.

Expect the whole team to be up and down like tenpins on a busy night come the Wolves match.

Don't know how Weso would have coped though considering with what he's been through.

Anyway it all lends itself to a new chant based on "yer what, yer what."

No matter what the problem or the state of the player the cry will go out...

Get up, get up.... get up, get up, get up. :D

There's not a lot. It was just a bit of passing flippancy on a boring day while I'm waiting for a new freezer to be delivered.

I just thought I'd discovered exactly what Holloway sees in Kaebi.

Cos I've never seen anyone go down so many times in virtually successive challenges since Heskey showed what a fragile forward he could be. :D

Thrac quite clearly wants Kaebi to not only fail but fail miserably so he can turn around and tell us "I told you so". And I know he'll deny this but I refuse to believe it.

I've never been remotely convinced by the bloke and while he can always change my mind I left Hull on Saturday hoping he was swiftly returned to the reserves for further acclimatisation.

It isn't a matter of saying "I told you so" because i've done that often enough before he ever got to the first team.

How can you have 'told you so' before he got into the first team. your point about Kaebi couldnt have been proved until he played in the first team.

And still, he has played a game and a half (not counting the last few minutes of Watford) and he has already come to a conclusion about the boy.

I'm no way saying the kid is a world beater and should be granted Freedom of the City, but the constant attack on him by mainly Thrac is uncalled for.

Here we go again.

I get the feeling this sort of reaction is exactly what Thracian was looking for when he created this thread.

A game and a half to you - 11 games to me and he hasn't changed one bit with his promotion.

You see exactly what players are capable of in the reserves so they sure count to me.

As for Fryatt, he might lack strength and speed, no question, and I've long argued that he's not really good enough for our first team anyway.

But, unlike Kaebi, Fryatt makes reserve team football look dead easy, scoring goals galore, whereas Kaebi had very little impact.

And, at first team level Fryatt does at least have a few goals and a good number of half decent performances behind him not only in our first team but in English football generally.

Kaebi has played 11 times and I would say he's rated more than a 5.5 or a six only once.

If you had played 50 times for your country wouldn't you find it a tad patronising playing for the reserves of a woeful championship side?

I would, and would probably give half hearted performances becuase i would think i was having the piss took out of me.

And as far as strength is concerned, how much of it do you need when you have the pace Kaebi posesses. Not alot if we utilise his ability to run onto the ball instead of making him battle with 6" + giant full backs.

I may have missed something, but I thought that in his first game for Leicester, he actually played well and got praised by the manager? Thracian, I am guessing you went to the game and watched it closely, what do you think makes your assessment so different from the manager and other commentators. (please don't talk about the reserve games, I am specifically asking about Kaebi's FIRST start for your club).

Basically, according to Thracian. He is utter shit in the 1 1/2 games he has played for us - despite Holloway saying differently. Why? Because he scored no goals playing right-back for the reserves.

so,

who do we believe? Thracian or our manager ( who said in the first game he played well)

Don't try to back me into a corner. Kaebi's strengths and weaknesses have been apparent in the reserves just as in the first team - except over a longer period.

There are people on here so determined, for whatever reasons, to defend Kaebi's corner that they make one excuse or another not to consider this, not to consider that.

I tell it as I see it and give my reasons so people can disagree if they wish. I've no idea why our manager chooses to put Kaebi in the team.

But it certainly isn't as a result of weeks watching him play wonderful games for the second team.

FFS Ollie has put him in the team and im sure he has his reasons, he sees him in training almost everyday! Why do you always try to say he doesn't deserve to be in the 1st team!!!!!!! Kaebi's caliber of player should not be playing in a championship reserve side! Ollie even said that!

You learn the hard way if you wish.
