Giving up until february... And i'm bloody angry!

I'll apologise for the following rant from the off, as this is what's been going through my mind during a liquid lunch.

So...

I'm sitting here, in this god-awful room on a boring as hell IT course thinking about how wonderful life is as a Leicester supporter fan and i'm seriously fcuked off with the whole business...

I've seen thread after thread pop up about Ollies abilities/inabilities blah blah blah de fcuking blah. Seen countless sad Argyle muppets come in and slag him off at every given opportunity (although respect where it's due, there have been a few sensible Plymouth fans) and to be honest it's all rather pathetic. On BOTH counts.

So, i've given up any hope of anything good happening this side of christmas. Completely. We have an inept team with a media-friendly manager who's only capabilities seem to be stirring up angst among the City faithful, underperforming and dancing the jig in front of the Dail Mails fcuking sports writer. Not to slate Ollies abilities to actually MANAGE a team, of course. It would help if he actually had a team of his own to work with (which countless people have pointed out to countless muppets who think Ollie should get the sack - and they STILL don't listen - i'll repeat the word 'muppets' a second time as it seems to be particularly significant.)

I'm sick of this crap, and i'm pretty sure most proper City fans are too. And I don't JUST mean City fans who go up to every game, who are at every away fixture. Not all of us are in that kind of position anymore (and trust me, I used to go up all the time - this is the price I pay for 3 (wonderful, I add) children and a nasty split from the ex.)

I couldn't give a flying fudge who Ollies next signings come from (all from Plymouth if anything here is to be taken as read - christ, we'll be the fcuking Plymouth B-team if speculation has its way!!!) and I couldn't give a crud who thinks he should be sacked now for managing a team of lazy, idle scrounging - and yes, scrounging! - if you were being paid for a job you DIDN'T DO in any way shape or form it would be scrounging - they're not earning a penny of their wages!

I've had enough. We're away to Wolves on Sat (I love pointing out the obvious btw) and I won't be watching or going. I've said before I don't see us getting any joy this side of Jan, and I think February (late Feb admittedly - or however you bloody spell it) is gonna be the time when things either start to pick up, or they start to slide immeasurably towards League 1. Which, I might add, may not be too bad a thing. There's a few people here who think just cos we're 'one of the 9' that we're too big to go down. We're not. Look at our position, and look at our bone-idle useless players.

Anyway, apologies for the rant, but this is stuff I needed to get off of my chest after reading some of the inane crap here. And, I know I don't post here much, but that doesn't make me any less of a fan than somebody who's made thousands of posts, and is a permanent fixture at The Walkers. I respect a lot of people here, although I don't express it. But some, frankly, are just simpletons who aren't fit to wear the shirt.

Frankly, my 10yr old daughter has more sense than some people here.

And she fcuking HATES Stearman too.

Ok, rant over. You may abuse me, applaud me or just be indifferent. Your choice. Merry Christmas!!! :scarf:

we need every point we can, and its not like their putting in any effort anyway... HOWEVER, i think the players are going to dig deeper as they know there postitions are under threat, and no-one is safe with the transfer window looming. Thats what they should be thinking anyway...

Your daughter is spot on about Stearman.

We've got some tough fixtures over the festive period - I'm just hoping we're not cut adrift at the end of it.

It's what they SHOULD be thinking certainly, I agree, but you (well, I) get the impression most of em just simply don't care anymore. The ones who's contracts are NOT up shortly will be sitting comfortably for a good while, still being payed for a job they're not performing in. In any other profession they'd be sacked. In this one, they're thrown a few nasty words and that's it, they keep chugging along and get paid well on a regular basis. Christ, I know nothing about cars, but I could happily get paid well every week in the automobile industry, suffer some abuse every saturday and the occasional weekday, in order to keep a job i'm completely inept at... but it'd never happen, would it!

Nice rant and you have a very clever daughter

:scarf: She also say's he has weird legs and his eyes are too close together! She's a genius, what can I say. Nothing like her old man lol

And I agree Scoweh, but i'm not optimistic. It's going to end badly I fear, and if Ollie doesn't cut it in the transfer market, we're royally scuppered.

I totally sympatise with your rant Linekaah.

In effect we're into our fifth year of misery, even if the first of those was in the Prem. Frankly it's a testimony to our loyalty that the crowds have remained over 20,000. But these days I find myself getting to about 2.40 on a Saturday and thinking, 'here we go again'.

The whole thing seems so dismal at the moment, whether that's:

the OS restricting breaking news to 'World' subscribers ie trying to screw yet more money out of us

Our inability to score goals

Our managerial merry go round

Our appalling signings (with some honourable exceptions) over the last few years

Our hopeless lack of progress

The lack of pride so many players seems to exhibit

The Monday morning exhortations for us to 'stick together, now more than ever, and be the 12th man, from AN Other player

Our inability to play anything approaching creative football

Megson going to Bolton and doing well

Barber's appalling commentaries

Rab Douglas

Half time entertainment involving four blokes from the crowd trying to chip a ball into a shed without roof, and getting a £25 voucher at some DIY store if they succeed

Mel, the PA announcer, trying to lighten the mood by making something out of it Forest lose

The fact that I hoped we might go up the table if Cov and Cardiff went into administration and lost 10 points

The only positive I cling to is this. If, by some stroke of fortune, we manage to string 2 or 3 wins together, the Walkers will soon have 26, 27, 28,000 turning up for home games. We are still fundamentally a good club, and one day the good times will return, because these things are cyclical.

Here's hoping 2008 is better than 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, and most of 2003.

There's only one reason and that is the total lack of home wins, if we got some of those you'd hardly notice all the other shitty things.

Well, unfortunately, these are the players we have at the minute, and we are stuck with them until further notice.

I don't think burying your head in the sand is the best way to go about supporting your team. You have to get behind them, no matter how much you dislike our current incumbents (and we all do). We aren't supporting the players, we're supporting the club. These are the times the club needs us most. Its a two way thing. We need the club (well, i cant speak for others, but I certainly do and I'm sure others are the same), and the club and the team desperately needs us.

So get behind them and stop moaning.

Hell, maybe we might even get a few points out of it.

You make a fair point, and i'd never give up my love of the club for anything, but currently i'm so fcuking disillusioned with what's going on at this place it's driving me to a point where I keep asking myself 'do I really give a fcuk anymore'. And, well, the answer appears to be yes, sadly, atm, cos, well, i'm here.

With far too many bloody comma's. Anyway, i'm off home. I'll be back here later. Probably drunk. More than likely depressed, unless I decide NOT to look at the fcuking team sheet or league table!!!

Yes, as i have many a time.

Invariably, the answer is yes, no matter where the club is, what state its in, who runs it, what players we have, who we've just got beat by, its my club, its a part of me and has been since i was 5 or 6 years old when i first put that kit on, and if it was took away, it would feel like i had lost a part of me.

Football, and supporting a team, is a religion nowadays to most, and like religion, it is something you stick with for the whole of your life, come the good, come the bad, or even come the ugly. We are no doubt currently going through the bad and the ugly, as we have been for the past 3 or 4 seasons.

But things will change. It'll get worse before it gets better and i think thats whats happening at the minute. It may be a long journey, but we will get there in the end.

I know i think it is quite worrying i think that are next few results will be:

Wolves 2-1 Leicester

Leicester 1-1 Ipswich

Leicester 1-3 Charlton

QPR 2-0 Leicester

Sometimes you just need to get things off your chest. November 24th seems a long time ago now but we will win again at some point soon. Football is something that should be enjoyed win, lose or draw. If you care that much about a team winning then you will never desert them.

I've been to more games than ever this season now I've got a few quid and have learnt to drive. I've been going since the Pleat days so I've seen us in all shapes and forms (from Stephen Hughes to Jari Rantanen!) and obviously times are bad at the moment but personally I feel I've gained a bit of perspective and I still enjoy going to the games generally. I've turned the Charlton game into a bit of a get-together with some good mates and can't wait for QPR on New Years Day for the laughs the usual away day crew always have.

If nothing else at least it gives you something in common with your daughter? Me and my Dad at the very least always have LCFC whereas my brother has nothing in common with him and barely speaks to him really.

The things I'm looking forward to most over Christmas are our next four games. Teams can't always be winning games week in week out and we haven't yet found ourselves sinking as low as Leeds or Forest. Football is cyclical and we're still a mess at the moment but things will turn round at some point and pride will be restored. Even this season I have had some of the most memorable moments of my entire life in places like Nottingham, Birmingham and London - all because I support Leicester City Football Club.

great post... really puts football in perspective

Leicester are really starting to build up a very bad reputation for being a club you can join with great facilities, be paid high wages now becase we have Milan and don't have to put any effort in and carry on playing.

This means there we be loads of players wanting to come here in Jan, looking to hit the jackpot with high wages on a long contract, and then just not even bother. Thats the reputation we have and thats what 90% of the players we have are like. It's an absolute dream to play for Leicester City for these players, thousands of pounds a week and you have to do fook all.

ALso i think the players know Ollie wont be around for long and the manager will keep on changing. THis means they can play well for 1 match, impress that manager, then go no effort until the next manager comes in.

We need to terminate a good 10 players contracts immediately, they are a bunch of twats, just pay out £3m or so in compensation and get rid of them. i.e Cort, Stearman, Fryatt, Douglas, Hellings, Clemence, Nilsen, Kishishev, De Vries, Hammond.

So so many players need to go, nobody will buy them. Terminate their contracts and pay them off :protest:

You're quite useful for an opinion. If I can't decide what I think, I usually read your posts.

And then decide I think the complete opposite.

I honestly don't think the next three games are a lost cause.

OK, wolves looks bleak. But ipswich are shite away from home, could be a possible 3 points, Charlton are good away from home so maybe a point if we can battle There's 4 points.

Norwich's next three games: S****horpe (a), Charlton (h), Wolves (h)

Colchester's next three games: QPR (a), Southampton (h), Blackpool (h)

Preston's next three games: Southampton (a), S****horpe (h), Cardiff (h)

QPR's next three games: Colchester (h), Plymouth (a), Watford (a)

Although the teams below us do have easier fixtures. Can't bet against Colchester taking 9 points and Preston at least 6? :dunno::dunno:

I know exactly how you feel.

I have been supporting City since the Matt Gillies days way back in the 60's.

Since then I have seen the club go up and down like a bloody yo yo.

Talk to other people and they always say Leicester are a good club who never seem to make it.

Over the years we have been league 1 runners up, F.A. cup runners up, Worthington cup winners, but we never seem to be able

to remain in the top tier of our league for a good length of time.

Over the years I have seen more highs and lows from supporting the city than a trapeze artist has seen falling into the net!

Despite all this I still give them my utmost support.

So "always look on the bright side of life, da,da, da,da, da,da, de,da, de,da, de,da. :bounce:
