Boycie Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Just thought I would start a new topic to cheer everyone up for Christmas Yea the lad has passed after only 4 lessons. He looked very swish in his Golf GTI. He only turned 17 on 1st of December as well.
Bryn Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 4 lessons? Bollocks to that, noone could be roadworthy in that space of time, unless they'd done a lot of hours with their parents or whatever.
Boycie Posted 22 December 2007 Author Posted 22 December 2007 Probably has done. It is no lie either. Came to my mates yesterday to pick his cousin up.
James. Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 If this is true then he's in the wrong profession.
filbertway Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Wooooo A lad I know passed after jsut 1 lesson so it's hardly unbelieveable.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 He will have had other driving time. But still, congratulations to him.

Bryn Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Well frankly that's appalling. A 17 year old lad without a care in the world, cruising around in a relatively powerful car after less than a months driving experience. Great. I'm hope the government are bringing in this rule where you have to have so many hours of instruction certified before you can take a test, because people like him make me feel unsafe on the road.

How can you say that? Have you seen him driving about then? Some people just cant be pleased for the lad can they.

Come off it. Our driving test is one of the toughest in Europe. If he has the skills to pass that then he is certainly roadworthy. I worry about the people who took their test 30 years ago or more and have developed ridiculous and dangerous bad habits. If the rule is gong to change then it should be that you have to have a refresher every 5 - 10 years or something.

That's harsh. I had quite a few lessons (Not sure exactly how many but a fair few) I passed my test first time. I now have a Golf myself (After 3 years of driving) and I know for a fact should I have to retake my test i'd fail miserably, so in fairness at the moment he's probably a better driver than me!

Bryn Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 It ain't the quality of driving skill that lets a driver down, it's attitude and experience.
filbertway Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Sorry. Just thought I would say. No that wasn't directed at you, I realised that did sound sarky sorry It was meant for the person who didn't belive he'd only had 4 lessons
James. Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 It ain't the quality of driving skill that lets a driver down, it's attitude and experience. Attitude won't change if he as 30 lessons or 4 though will it? And he MUST have had a decent amount of experience to be able to pass the test anyway! Out of interest have you passed your test?

Boycie Posted 22 December 2007 Author Posted 22 December 2007 Well done Billzo Your avatar disgusts me Boycie I thought it was very fitting. I would change it back but it wont let me for some reason, sorry
