AoWW Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 It ain't the quality of driving skill that lets a driver down, it's attitude and experience. Quality of driving and skill has quite a lot to do with how safe you are, I'd have thought? I know plenty of driver with years of experience and just the right attitude - but I still wouldn't get in a car with them because the quality of their driving is shite. You posts just smack of stereotyping of the highest order.

There are so many dicks on the road, I see them every day, and frankly I'd rather at least know that everyone taking their test had had several hours of tuition and experience before they were allowed to drive around. It isn't a topic I take any chances with, and I certainly don't give the benefit of the doubt.

Those people are the ones that took their test so long ago they can't remember how to drive properly... Or boy racers who will be boys and race however much tuition they have. Anyway, let's just be happy for Kee and hope he doesn't have a spoiler fitted, a bass bin in the boot and go faster stripes down the wings...

If he did anything to that car like that he would ruin it, I woulldnt mind that as my first car in February.

He passed his test so clearly they felt he was competent. And, yes, as someone who's passed their advanced driving test and drives competitively from time to time, as well as clocks up a pretty impressive annual mileage, other people's ability behind the wheel also concerns me greatly. But I still think you've made some astonishing generalisations in this case that could well be unjustified.
James. Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 And, yes, as someone who's passed their advanced driving test and drives competitively from time to time Hello there... what's this?
Thracian Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Just thought I would start a new topic to cheer everyone up for Christmas Yea the lad has passed after only 4 lessons. He looked very swish in his Golf GTI. He only turned 17 on 1st of December as well. That does surprise me - unless he's had lots of preparatory experience. What always concerns me about the driving test is that it's just done on the conditions of the day rather than including a section on a test facility where different conditions are simulated like snow, black ice, mud, certain road works, wrongly cambered roads etc. Some of these things and others can come as a hell of a shock to youngsters if they have not experienced those hazards. Especially if they are going too fast at the time.
AoWW Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Hello there... what's this? Nothing major... I've done a bit of rallying and other than that more track days and stuff than I care to remember. Oh, and a few, erm 'unofficial' competitive things. It probably means I'm a stupidly arrogant and irresponsible driver.
Daggers Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Tch. Another tosser to get in the way of us cyclists. And an ugly one at that.
Bryn Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Tch.Another tosser to get in the way of us cyclists. And an ugly one at that. Don't even get me started on cyclists >.<
Tubes Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 He had none of them things on his car yesterday. If he did anything to that car like that he would ruin it, I woulldnt mind that as my first car in February. He's bought them massive alloys though aint he

Tommy G Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Clearly a few people on here flying the flag for the official Billy Kee fan club Golf GTI at 17? Thats sickening. I would dread to think how his experience and that amount of power under his right foot will combine eek
FoxesFan100 Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 There is nothing wrong with a 17 year old passing after 4 lessons, i mean im 17 and i passed after 8 lessons, but thats only because me and my dad went driving most nights, so i was used to driving. Plus i drive carfully, so well done Mr Kee... Dont be stupid and act like a boy racer, that kills.
Geo V Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Congrats to the lad but I`d much rather be slapping him on the back with congratulations after he scored his first goal for the club instead. I hope we don't get a thread each time the lad achieves something in his personal life like the first girl he gets pregnant etc etc

Wezleylowski Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 We're probably about two years too late for that particular thread. I get the feeling you dont like Kee Whats your beef?
Micky Ruddle Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Let us know when he's out driving, I'll make sure I stay in. Time to get dogging then I guess. Father and or Mother must've been an instructor before he passed...oooh i don't know. Well done i guess. I'm struggling to believe this. Billy Kee and co in Bar Europa Thursday night...
