Palace vs Plymouth

Went yesterday STOOD in the Holmesdale lower. There was not a steward or child in sight and too be quite honest the atmosphere was very good. :worship: Needless to say there was no signs of trouble and to be honest the overall matchday experience was far more enjoyable than the Walkers equivalent. I know the standing debate keeps popping up but it really does generate a much better atmosphere!

Strangely, I stood up all the way through Northampton vs Bournemouth on Friday night. The seats at the Cobblers are too small. Very little atmos there, to be honest.

Northampton lost its atmosphere when they left for sixfields.

Mate had a spare season ticket, so i thought why not. Plus London is well easy from where I live.

They certainly did, even with a 3 sided ground the hotel end could still make some noise at the old county ground...happy days! :scarf:

Yeah I think it is mate.

They have some decent Ultras. Personally I think Palace is one of the best away days in this division.

Yep, me, Fez, Alex, Manwell, and a few others know aaaalll about standing at Selhurst Park. Alex will also inform you that beer is not allowed on the terraces.

:yesyes:

Manwell will also confirm that some seats do happen to break.

And that some seat parts may be removed from the ground under a jumper :dunno:

I went to Aston Villa v Man City on Saturda along with my in-laws and we stood in Holte End as well almost the entire game, no problems whatsoever. No stewarts telling us to sit down or anything.

What was the atmosphere like in the Holte End? I seem to read mixed reviews a lot of the time.

I don't know where you were in the ground but I thought the banter between the Cobblers fans in the West Stand and the away fans was brilliant, surrounding Bournemouth's manager Kevin Bond.

"Shall we sack your boss for you?" sung by Northampton fans

"Stand up if you hate Bondy" started by Northampton fans - Bournemouth fans stand up.

"Sit down if you hate Bondy" started by Northampton fans - Bournemouth fans sit down.

"This is why we're going down" sung by Bournemouth fans

lol Was all good-natured too.

It was very good, the atmosphere was excellent especially at the lower block behind the goal. They do get behind their team a lot and we heard very little from Man City despite them having brought 3.000 fans with them. Another team with apparently great away support but they didn't show up. But Holte End got a very good reputation and rightly so.

They also got something called Track of the Day where each week one player chooses the music of his choice for the warm up. This week was Ashley Young and he chose Soulja Boy, and poor little Marlon Harewood was dancing to it in the warm up. Oh dear. lol

Ha. Thats fantastic.

Villa's support is impressive. And I quite frankly love Villa Park.

I was in with the Bournemouth fans. Mate's a Cherry fan and I've watched 'em on and off for almost as long as I've supported City.

The banter was ace. Cherry boys really want Bond out as he's brought in rubbish that has got injured and replaced them with 18 year olds on loan. Problem is the club literally can't afford to sack him. They are on the verge of admin and that would probably crucify them. If they go down, they'll go straight into the Conference. Sorry times for a club that once beat us 2 years on the trot at Filbo!
