The full season he had with us he only scored something like 12 goals, 7 or so of which were penalties. Then he scored a hat-trick at the start of the next season and buggered off to Wigan. He wasn't anything special, certainly no more so than Dickov or even Hume.

That's why Wigan paid us £3m (more than the combined worth of our current strikeforce) for him, and why he helped Sunderland to a title last season..
