WetFlannel Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 I saw this in your post and realised that anything you said was invalidated. If you'd like to re-post without likening John to his world class Dutch counterpart I'll be all ears Ok, Van Nistlerooy looks lazy and so does Collins John
Daggers Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 Ok, Van Nistlerooy looks lazy and so does Collins John No. Try without reference to a world class forward who neither looks lazy nor spends his time on his arse while people make excuses for him.

ibbosuk Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 Johns played his last game for City........Return to sender
Anish Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 No point saying he'll bag 20 goals in this league if he's fully fit when he's constantly injured. When was the last time he had a run of 10 games in a row? He's had plenty of time at the club and shown that he's too injury prone to take a gamble on, and even when he plays his finishing has hardly been clinical. His best days are behind him.

reynard Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 The truth is he is like Carl Cort 1 half decent season and everyone thinks he will score 20 goals a season at this level. He wont at the momnet because he isn't fit enough and I don't see why we should continue to pay his wages just so Fulham can have a fitter player when he goes back. His previous record is not very distinguished and he is useless in the air. His work rate leaves a lot to be desired and it doesn't look as if he cares whether he is here or not. We should send him back now and if he ever gets fit look at the situation again. At the moment he is a passenger only playing because we are so bereft of any decent target men strikers and passengers are something we cannot afford.
Jack Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 The first couple of games i was impressed with him but after a while he just seemed lazy and he doesn't seem to create chances either.
Fox You Forest Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 He goes over nearly as much as heskey used too.
MC Prussian Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 The first couple of games i was impressed with him but after a while he just seemed lazy and he doesn't seem to create chances either. You could apply that stamp to almost every single loanee we've had in the past 4 to 5 years. What's wrong with this management? Groundhog Day.
mickydeeeuk Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 see no difference between him and carl cort!! both absolutely what we dont need!!! he can bugger off back to fulham as far as i am concerned lazyb*stard! he's not good enough and cant see him changing my mind either! if he gets fit and shows he wants it enough he will do a job for someone in the future, but the same could be said for most players at this level. he must have some talent to get where he has but he just aint interested tho! Milan please get Connely back!!!!
demon_dog Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 He has not impressed me one iota. He does appear lazy, seems to lack any physical presence, seems to not even know where the goal is with some of his shots. Some say he is not 100% fit, then don't play him. Stick him in the reserves for a few games to get him fit and sharpen him up. If he shows the desire to play and puts in the work, then stick him in the team. If he's not happy, then send him back. On a personal note, I'd get rid of him now.
C.J Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 If only we could take 10 years off sir les, he's the last great striker we've had here even though he was in the twlight of his career when we had him. Collins John just needs to get match fit, I second the bloke who said he'll score 20 in this league when he's fit.
maddog Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Hes a slow weak lazy liability. No way is he good enough for the Premiership. I really hope we dont sign him seems useless.

That statement is a joke... We arent in the premierhsip in case you havent noticed. Aswell as that, John has proven himself useful in the premiership, and was Fulhams top goalscorer about 2 years ago. Why do you think we are good enough for the premiership at the moment?
Trumpet Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Alright whats with getting on the guys back, he was injured after 10 minutes. He impressed me at Ipswich, made some good runs, just needed to time them better. So whats changed from Ipswich to the present? He got injured. You can't rate the guy on the 10 minutes yesterday. We know what he's capable of. Also, I like how no-ones slated Fulop for flapping yesterday. It was unheard of walking out the ground.

I suppose Fulop has earned the merit not to be slated... but i do agree about the John points though
Daggers Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 You can't rate the guy on the 10 minutes yesterday. That's right, you'd need to take the sum contributions he has made to the club during the period spent here in order to do that.
dandannieldanok Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 After sifting through the topic people seem split and to all those backing him saying all he needs is to get fit should surely wonder why a young man like John is struggling with that so much. He's been here a couple of months(ish) now and IMO if he isn't fit now then he isn't likely to be in the near future.
