demon_dog Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Sell him, IMO. Only seems to play well occassionally, plenty of other players around that we could replace him with. Use the proceeds from the sale to up the bid for Fulop.
Monk Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 I saw Fryatt miss a sitter against QPR last season and I see absolutely no evidence that he is any more a goalscorer a year on, today he wouldn't have scored in a month of sundays. If we get an offer for him we really should let him go.
Anish Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 He missed a sitter today in my opinion (a header from 3 yards that Camp saved) and I agree with Monk's assessment. He just doesn't look like scoring goals as a striker, he's not deadly enough and gives the keeper a chance every time. His build up play and link up is intelligent but as a striker he's paid to score and he won't cut it in this league. I looked at his technique in the warm up today and he looked less likely to score than either Hume or Howard - he always side-foots his shots and hardly gets any power. He's not a goalscorer that we need.
Monk Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 He's a poor mans Akinbiyi. Ha I think thats a bit harsh.

He's not a goalscorer that we need. Not sure if he's ever going to become good or not - always flatters but never quite makes it. Last season, when he was out for a long period & then came back in, you could see that he had much more quality than the other strikers. However, he just doesn't seem to have that killer instinct. Today's miss was straight at the goal keeper -all right at Div 1/below but no good in this league. Not sure that I would want to get rid as I still believe he can improve & hopefully he'd get better service/more opportunities to score.
Head Honcho Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Ha I think thats a bit harsh. I'm not too sure, he has an almost identical goal to game ratio with us as Akinbiyi and Akinbiyi was playing at a higher level
Simi Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 The guy is a fraudster and I can't beleive how many people are fooled by him. He rarely seems to get in threatening positions and when he manages to he often fumbles his chances. He missed a great chance to get us back in with a shout today and then bottled a header that Howard would have thrived on.
Jack Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 He doesn't seem to have much about him nowadays. He doesn't seem to be able to read other players games, rarely get's in good positions and doesn't score enough goals IMO.
lildave3 Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Needs to A. Know when and when not to shoot, B. Use his headeth and C, score.
