Alexikokopops Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 I feel this hasn't been said enough: Fryatt's miss? Unbelievable!
The People's Hero Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 I wish you'd been there to see Fryatt's miss. Absolutely ridiculous.Howard had a couple of headers from about eight yards out but they weren't fantastic chances, I presume the one you're referring to was the looping ball that he got on the end of but didn't get on target. He had a cracking game really. Won every header and hit the post from 25 yards. Unlucky not to score. He is going to be a good player for us. Yeah, what Fez said. Even Fryatt looked a bit embarrassed about his miss. Usually he just canters off as if nothing had happened.
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 He was the only one yesterday who actually looked like he could play at this level. Well apparently playing well isn't enough anymore for our strikers as the constant criticising of Fryatt shows despite the fact that he was MOTM in the two previous games. They have to score despite having an average of one half chance created for them per game. As I say though, if you all want Barry Hayles and Steve Howard up front for the rest of the season your shout. Fortunatley I don't have a season ticket.

For the money we've paid for him he had better be a good player for us.

The Reverend Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 I'm sorry but a person who scores goals in the box "a predator" doesn't need service?? lol lol Not necessarily. Look at DJ Campbells goals - his ones against Watford, Palace and Preston. They were'nt fashioned through 'service' but through his own instinct, i.e being in the right place at the right time. Thats all fryatt needs to do, but he isnt good enough.
The People's Hero Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Leave big Bazza Hay-les out of this! He was appalling.
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Leave big Bazza Hay-les out of this! He's experinced.
Alexikokopops Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 He was appalling. In all honesty he wasn't brilliant but he was no worst than anyone else really (with the exception of Howard). I'm really not sure why I like big Baz, I think it's just because the whole situation amuses me. It's definitely not his skill on the pitch.
WetFlannel Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Hayles has possibly the shiniest head in the world...

I'll say one thing - he looked as fit and eager as a butcher's dog. He played a bit like one too.

Jack Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Hayles has possibly the shiniest head in the world... Nah Mahon has the shiniest head

Sorry I'd totally forgoten how good 2.1 million pound man DJ "12 goals from 3 games last season" Campbells goal scoreing record for us is. What a buy. Sorry for over use of sarcasem but I'm fed up with this.

The People's Hero Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 I always thought that butchers had notoriously fit AND eager dogs. I used to be a butcher and let me tell you, I had the fittest dog in the whole of the Northern Hemisphere (apart from the Girls Aloud collective). Just ask Mark Butcher.

I signed someone on LMA2000 for the PS1 called M. Bucher, I used to pretend Mark Butcher had a career change. Incidentally, how do you think M. Butcher would fare in our team? Or your former dog for that matter? Thats it, gloves are off now.

Also a cricketer though - so you were correct in the career change assertion. Boucher, Butcher and my old dog (Crebbles-Johann) would make a fantastic front three. Geopetto could fashion the chances, just like he fashioned my childhood friend Pinocchio. Speaking of whom, he got dumped t'other week - girlfriend was upset after she got splinters down below. Wooden splinters that is. Not Splinters as in rat-like things out of the Turtles.
Bryn Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 Was talking to a Plymouth fan yesterday who said they really missed Hayles in their game... I haven't actually seen the Plymouth result so he may well have been taking the piss.

And what does Steve Agnew have to say about this?
The People's Hero Posted 2 January 2008 Posted 2 January 2008 And what does Steve Agnew have to say about this? He refuses to be drawn on it - but I can tell he's seething. Or teething. Perhaps both... I tell you what he's not doing though, growing any hair.

From what I can gather via media forums etc, it seems to me they're pretty happy they got a fee for him. We'll see how happy they are after half their squad has been sold off, then they might actually appericate what Holloway has been telling them and why he left.
