Why I hate most Tigers Fans

Recommended Posts

After leaving the ground after the Charlton game I get home by going to the train station as Daggers can confirm after he refused my offer of a Jelly baby  ! P.S do you want a can Daggers? :giggle:

Anyway whilst I made my way to the station I walked past Welford Road on the side where Granby Halls used to be and heard a group of Tigers fans chuckling to themselves, " ha ha ha Last Minute..........and McCarty too".

Fookin arseholes, not even Charlton fans would have been openly laughing about a last minute leveller.

I don't usually like to blanket a group of people but when ever I have come across tigers fans they are up their own arses about being a decent side at a second rate sport for those who can't play football.

I don't see how either set of fans would want the football or rugby team to fail to be honest.

I'm not a great tigers fan but I always look out for their results and want them to win.

Same for them, we all live in Leicester, we should want the Leicester teams to do well surely?

Tom you hate rugby in general

I don't really have an opinion on Tigers fans. I don't follow the rugby much apart from to see how England are doing.

Some people have a grudge against them because they nick all the parking spaces but that doesn't really effect me because i use the train.

I think in general City fans want Tigers to win, but Tigers fans want City to lose.. I support all things Leicester..City,Tigers,county,Kasabian,Englebert,The clock tower. :crylaugh:

I despise Rugby, especially Tigers fans. All the ones i know is, have you been in Europe recently?

Aas well assthe fact that I genrally don't like Thugby Union I rreally can't stand tigers.

Thae fact that most of there fans are glory hunters & haven't followed the club for more than 5 years, there nearly all upper class cu*ts. (Blanketing but I'm not fussed!)

Most of them have the attidude of americans, only support them because they win shiny things. Wankers.

I am proud to support Leicester Tigers and I hate rugby..you have to support a local team good in something, and the fans can be really annoying but most I know support both teams. I think most of the fans are al right though.

Bastards always nick 'my' parking spaces, I know that much - which is grounds for hating them, imo.

Oh, and how come I didn't get a jelly baby?:whistle:

You tit.

I've been a tigers fan for as long as I have been a city fan, I live between braunstone and new parks so i'm hardly an upper class ****, there are the odd one or two stuck up old farts at tigers but give it a few years and they'll die out so it doesn't matter, just the same as you get at city really.

Oh, and my american friend is here, he says fook YOU.

Tigers fans aren't that bad, if push comes to shove we would like to have been on European adventures, Cup finals and the like.

They have always had good support and try to play local youth.

I'm proud of tigers but supporting a winning team isn't really thing...

Oh, give over.

Do you really think if the situations had been reversed, and an ex-player of theirs had stuffed them in the last minute, there wouldn't have been any City fans ready to have a dig at them?

It's banter, simple as. No need to get as defensive as a Holloway team talk about it.

And talking of which, take a little more care next time when aiming jibes at those who "can't play football". That category includes too many of our current squad for my liking..

There are a surprising amount of Tigers "fans" in Bedford. Whenever I have my Citeh shirt on they often come up to me and tell me i've got the wrong sport :@ thinking they're being all funny. I then always ask them which part of Leicester they come from, and do they miss living there? Then they usually fook off looking insulted- twats.

The rugby vs football debate won't be solved in this thread.

There are political issues, "class" issues (though I hate the term) and social construct issues around understanding sport, territory and organisation and purpose of support.

I am a City fan and a Tigers fan.

I travel home and away to a variety of venues when I can. ( i have been at both city and tigers games listening to radio commentary of the other.....)

To label tigers or rugby fans as some in this thread have implied, would be like stating that all football fans are working class hooligans - A naive and stupid statement from the mouth of a ****.

I grew up playing both sports.

I have an understanding of what it feels like in extra time, beaten bruised and still determined, playing on the pitch for pride in both sports.

Supporters are individuals.

It is easy to hate and disrespect groups of people, tarring them with the same brush.

It is much harder as a fan of either sport to go to the others' game or get in a scrum or play effectively in a 4-5-1 and learn what it takes to appreciate the event first hand.

I am from Leicester.

That means something to me and I try to grasp perspectives from both sports.

Both sets of fans are welcome in both my Leicester based licensed premises. (Providing they behave their ****ing selves)

There are things about both sports which I love and significantly piss me off.

But don't judge people by their affiliations as its too easy to put things in a box.

It's how ignorance starts...... when nobody wants to learn anymore.

Good post.

Although the class issues don't apply so much in Leicester.

In many working-class areas of the city, folk are just as likely to go to Welford Road as they are to the Way.

Cheers.

Yeah, Ultra you are right about that.

It's the extremist supporters who either choose one or the other with resentful attitudes that cause the divide.

My guess is that it is a polarized class issue......

Hard core upper class rugby supporters vs hard core working class football supporters with little life-engagement opportunities (through no fault of their own) in the respective sporting pursuits.

I hate rugby in general and tigers fans. They think there so much better than us because they win stuff. Actually you play a crap sport which a tiny minority of people like. the fact we are the 41st ranked football team in this country and get 25,000 odd crowds and they are the best side and average less than 10,000 in all competitions this season shows how shit there sport is. I hope there club goes bust.

By that logic, John, people who don't support the most popularly supported sport in the world therefore and choose other pursuits which do not get the crowds in their locality week in week out such as, golf, mountain biking, basketball, ice hockey, women's football, UK baseball, UK American football, boxing, athletics, rally driving etc are supporters of "shit sports" as you put it?

I support the Tigers whether they win stuff or not - its unconditional, but you must know about that being a Leicester fan like me.

Gee lad, take a look at your prejudices, it must feel real comfortable and safe being one of the masses.

Your argument doesn't hold water.
