Why I hate most Tigers Fans

Recommended Posts

I hate rugby in general and tigers fans. They think there so much better than us because they win stuff. Actually you play a crap sport which a tiny minority of people like. the fact we are the 41st ranked football team in this country and get 25,000 odd crowds and they are the best side and average less than 10,000 in all competitions this season shows how shit there sport is. I hope there club goes bust.

:scarf:

No they don't.

Their average gate is over 17000 for league games this season, around 99% of capacity.

In five years' time, when their ground is rebuilt to hold over 30000 (many on terraces), they could quite easily pull bigger crowds than us.

Sad but true...

By that logic, John, people who don't support the most popularly supported sport in the world therefore and choose other pursuits which do not get the crowds in their locality week in week out such as, golf, mountain biking, basketball, ice hockey, women's football, UK baseball, UK American football, boxing, athletics, rally driving etc are supporters of "shit sports" as you put it?

I support the Tigers whether they win stuff or not - its unconditional, but you must know about that being a Leicester fan like me.

Gee lad, take a look at your prejudices, it must feel real comfortable and safe being one of the masses.

Your argument doesn't hold water.

Thanks. (Not many get the gist as is doesn't translate directly very easily)

Incidentally, I hope your toe-nails matched your shoes.

Nice point about the crowds, I couldn't be bothered to obtain actual statistics to counter his arguments, it just didn't seem necessary.

I too thought this was going to be about Hull City. But seeing as class has been mentioned and Rugby has a big westcountry following to the detriment of football. I find Rugby and Football supporters to be different sets of people. But what interests me about Leicester is that I can not help noticing that where as Solicitors and Accountants in Plymouth have names like Smith and Jones, Leicester ones are Singh and Patel, do the Singhs and Patels go to Rugby as the Solicitors and Accontants do in Plymouth or is their sporting interest confined to cricket. This is NOT intended to be raceist or offensive.

Aas well assthe fact that I genrally don't like Thugby Union I rreally can't stand tigers.

Thae fact that most of there fans are glory hunters & haven't followed the club for more than 5 years, there nearly all upper class cu*ts. (Blanketing but I'm not fussed!)

Most of them have the attidude of americans, only support them because they win shiny things. Wankers.

You do talk some UTTER bullshit at times chap.

Have a read of Nick's posts and then come back with a coherent argument.

I dont care about the Tiger's!!

and i am even more annoyed at the fact that they are sniggering when we do bad!!

Bastards!!

I say a welford road blood bath is on the cards!!

I don't really hate the Tigers, just don't have much time for them. It is different for me because I haven't grown up in Leicester, so they are not in my face, but what really annoyed me was the ground-share issue. We built the place, paid our own money to make it, then the Tigers think they can just use it without paying any of the £35 million we did. :@

My Dad follows them a bit, but for me, there are only two Leicestershire sporting sides I care about, my beloved City and the County (hope for better next summer). Tigers don't mean anything, don't look out for their results.

Except "we" never paid our own money to build the ground, just borrowed it from the bank. That's why the club ended up going bust, and still pays rent to this day.

A groundshare with the Tigers may have worked, but we'll never know for sure now as they've decided to rebuild their own ground instead - for which they'll need a continued stream of trophies to keep the glory-hunters sweet and thus the cash-tills rolling.

Good luck to them..

i'd support any team with Leicester in front of it ;

city , tigers, riders , lions (speedway) lions ( RL) coritanians , monarchs, foxes cc, etc etc ( even if we ever get another football team like leicester united , i'd support them too )

and no-one will convince me there is anything wrong or disloyal about it

COME ON LEICESTER !!!

Could this be because they are like the Man Utd of Rugby and most of their fans don't come from Leicester?

I don't know nothing about rugby, the tigers or tigers fans so excuse me if I am way off the mark, just thought it might be a point worth asking!

Some of us can remember when we were... lol

I can remember that too, though they tend to go a bit further than we ever have in Europe and are much more regularly in Europe.

I really enjoyed the Charlton match when in the pubs before and after there was a good mix of Rugby and Football fans.

When we talk about having a bunch of morons who watch tigers then i'd like to point out that we have a fair few idiots of our own. If you look at which set of fans have caused the most trouble then it is football fans in general again. You don't often hear of trouble with fans fighting after a rugby match.

Cheers.

Hard core upper class rugby supporters vs hard core working class football supporters with little life-engagement opportunities (through no fault of their own) in the respective sporting pursuits.

N.

Spot on there Nick (and Ultra and AnotherofWalshies) though I also think there is a rural/urban divide to the rugby/footie debate that crosses the upper/working class boundaries (ie, not all people who live in the countryside are upper class, and vice versa) This comes from working as a relief postie on a variety of rounds in Leicester and Leicestershire.

I too thought this was going to be about Hull City. But seeing as class has been mentioned and Rugby has a big westcountry following to the detriment of football.

Well this was something that has always confused me. Cornwall were frequently the winners of the County Cup back in the amatuer days, despite having not one single major club team. In fact I can remember Tigers beating Exeter, one of the bigger SW teams, 77-0 in the cup in the early 90s. I do think this supports my Rural/Urban divide thing stated above though, as a larger proportion of people live in rural areas (at the the very least, barring Plymouth, no large cities) in the SW.

Tigers are also the chosen spectator sport for the Leicester "glory boys" at the moment. I know a good many people who go Tigers who used to go City back in the O'Neill years. Sad.

Too right - been to Tigers, Riders, Panthers and County and back them all - and don't forget the Fyffes!! :scarf:

Just lastly, in defence of Kilworth, who started the thread, he did say MOST Tigers fans and anyone who has ever been top a Tigers game will know large sections of the crowd cheer when it's announced that City are losing or have lost. That said there are large sections that cheer when we win, so... :dunno:

OK I put all of the tigers fans In one, but they would do the same with us. (Doesn't make it any better though)

I know a few tigers fans who have Season Ticket Holders and follow the team away as well, and they are decent fella's but its more a dislike of Rugby Union & the attitude that some tigers fans have (Can't stand it!). Yes I know, we have our own wankers but I don't like the fact that many tigers FANS haven't supported the team for much more than five years and many are some are just glory fans.

I don't go around wanting them to loose, I just couldn't give a flying fck.

The rugby vs football debate won't be solved in this thread.

There are political issues, "class" issues (though I hate the term) and social construct issues around understanding sport, territory and organisation and purpose of support.

I am a City fan and a Tigers fan.

I travel home and away to a variety of venues when I can. ( i have been at both city and tigers games listening to radio commentary of the other.....)

To label tigers or rugby fans as some in this thread have implied, would be like stating that all football fans are working class hooligans - A naive and stupid statement from the mouth of a ****.

I grew up playing both sports.

I have an understanding of what it feels like in extra time, beaten bruised and still determined, playing on the pitch for pride in both sports.

Supporters are individuals.

It is easy to hate and disrespect groups of people, tarring them with the same brush.

It is much harder as a fan of either sport to go to the others' game or get in a scrum or play effectively in a 4-5-1 and learn what it takes to appreciate the event first hand.

I am from Leicester.

That means something to me and I try to grasp perspectives from both sports.

Both sets of fans are welcome in both my Leicester based licensed premises. (Providing they behave their ****ing selves)

There are things about both sports which I love and significantly piss me off.

But don't judge people by their affiliations as its too easy to put things in a box.

It's how ignorance starts...... when nobody wants to learn anymore.

most of the time i don't care about the tigers and the only time i do is because of traffic. i still cannot see why our match at home against west brom had to be moved forward to 2.15 because of wugger reasons but agianst charlton (when we were more likely to get a bigger crowd because of it being in the holiday period) we both kicked off at the same time. what makes it worse is that a higher % of tigers fans drive to games* compared to city fans (where a higher % walk or take a bus to the ground) so that their smaller grounds cause a disproportionate amount of traffic

* often in land rovers...sorry, it's just true!

After leaving the ground after the Charlton game I get home by going to the train station as Daggers can confirm after he refused my offer of a Jelly baby  ! P.S do you want a can Daggers? :giggle:

Anyway whilst I made my way to the station I walked past Welford Road on the side where Granby Halls used to be and heard a group of Tigers fans chuckling to themselves, " ha ha ha Last Minute..........and McCarty too".

Fookin arseholes, not even Charlton fans would have been openly laughing about a last minute leveller.

I don't usually like to blanket a group of people but when ever I have come across tigers fans they are up their own arses about being a decent side at a second rate sport for those who can't play football.

Blue Army! :scarf:

You should have knifed the bastards...then see who's laughing!!!

Cant stand SOME of the fcukers really...especially when they nick the car parking spaces on Vicky Park with their fcuking 4x4's...bnch of old farts...mind you i suppose they cant stand us loutish thugs can they???

If their are any Parking attendants on here get down to Tigers way on a match day and do your job, don't do it indiscriminately!
