reynard Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 Ok I have just been speaking to a friend of mine who's a well connected QPR fan and he tells me we made a 1.5m bid for Rowlands on Friday pm. Can only think what their reaction was. If this was a Holloway move to unsettle them it obviously worked well!
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 solid player, invaluable at this level and massively ahead of anyone we have and would slot into midfield nicely. Yes please. Hope its true and they want to sell!
Flynny Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 QPR don't need anyone's money! Why would they sell?
dandannieldanok Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 Good player I'm just glad it's not my money
General Smuts Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 Im on bored these made up transfer rumours. I enjoy the anticipation and the build up its like crack, but the come downs like getting battered 3-1 by QPR. That said i hope he comes.
Jonezy Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 QPR don't need anyone's money! Why would they sell? They are doing a Leicester City at the moment... Buying a whole new football team without selling! So they will have to move some of they deadwood out, but Rowlands cannot be part of that I would think.
Nick Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 They are doing a Leicester City at the moment... Buying a whole new football team without selling! So they will have to move some of they deadwood out, but Rowlands cannot be part of that I would think. From Wiki : ( I have to be honest didn't know much about him ) QPR After suffering a broken leg, QPR manager Ian Holloway took a gamble on Rowlands and signed him on a free transfer in the summer of 2004. This gamble paid off, as Rowlands scored 12 goals from midfield, helping QPR to achieve promotion from the Second Division. That season, Rowlands also showed versatility, playing right back, right midfield, left midfield and centre midfield; excelling in all positions. He won both the supporters and players player of the year competitions. Since then, Rowlands has suffered many injuries and has never truly recaptured his outstanding form of 2003/04. However, in 2006/07 he managed to score 10 goals from midfield. So they got him on a free? From Farnham who paid 45k...... lots of injuries 28 year old never recaptured his best since he was 25.......they might sell him. Especially if we are going wild with 1.5 million, everyone has their price. I am also under the impression that Johnson and Kavanagh may have been the other two of the three deals that were pending if we are sticking offers in for midfielders late on friday afternoon.....which also suggests that Rowlands was probably not Ollie's first choice. hmm.

Holloway is now even more of a **** if this turns out to be true.
SamL Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 I thought he was a pretty decent player. Good at this level but £1.5 million? We're getting had again. I don't see why we've forked out 1.5 million for Howard and maybe another 1.5 million for Rowlands but only willing to pay a million for Fulop who has been arguably our best player this season But its okay because at the game today some bloke was telling me that Fulop is overated and Hendo is god compared to Fulop. Apparantly Fulop doesn't command his area. This guy obviously doesn't see a lot of games because Fulops been one of our most consistent players all season.
