So you clearly feel that our team should be players under the age of 21. Sorry, it doesnt work like that. You obviously arent aware of the experience they can offer on and off the pitch. I would gladly take a player aged over 30 if it can benefit the team, and I can immediately see Howard being one of these. Did you go to QPR or Southampton today?

qpr yes

southampton no

Howard is a very average player in this league and at 31 never a 1.5 million player!

Howard was excellent against QPR, and although I didn't go today, it seems he played well. 19 goals last season I think? What does age have to do with it?

Just got back. The whole match was just shite, the day as a whole was also shite. The amount of times we gave away the ball when we tried going forward was fooking stupid. There were no midfielders, resulting in the ball being lost in the middle of the park umpteen times. This then meant that the passes kept going back to the defense , then they would try picking out Hume down the wing, letting him getting tackled or him passing the ball to southampton feet.

TBH, I just wanted to go home halfway through the second half, the place is shit, I hate their stupid fooking accent down there, the people are all inbreds, the players were shit, half our crowd were shit, Burgers were fooking beaut mind you!

Henderson - 3

Gets a 3 for being in the right place to stop Rasiak getting a third. Glued to his goal line from corners and when he did come out for a free kick, he missed it with an air punch. We need a keeper, quick.

Stearman - 3

The Stearman we all know - a bag of shit. Allowed his opponent too much space when played at right back and gave the ball away often through a combination of hoofness and crapness.

McAuley - 3.5

Given the run around and Southampton always looked to expose him.

Kisnorbo - 4.5

Slightly better than McAuley, although both didn't really want to take control - the back 4 was all over the place at times.

Sheehan - 4.5

Did try and get forward but apart from one decent cross, can't remember what else he did right.

Hayles - 4.5

Tried hard but didn't look much of a threat.

Kenton - 5

One of the players that looked like he wanted to play.

Wesolowski - 4

Woefully short of fitness and looked well overrun.

Hume - 3

Simply awful. Gave the ball away so many times and offered nothing.

Fryatt - 4

Again some nice touches - but it leads to fu ck all.

Howard - 5.5

Strong in the air and on the ground. Shame players around him are a pile of shit to get on the end of things.

Subs:

King - 5

Did ok and tried to keep things ticking in midfield - just too pedestrian and lacks any outstanding attributes.

N'Gotty - 4

Wasn't really involved.

Hendo 3 - Shit

Stearman 5 - I think the goals affected his performance, 'cos he started off ok.

Sheehan 4 - Turned outside by their right winger.

Mcauley 6 - 1 great tackle, looked like he wanted it.

Kisnorbo 5 - Can't actually really remember anything good or bad.

Hume 4 - Effort, but a lot of mis-placed passes and poorly timed runs.

Hayles 3 - Did he know where he was playing? How did he miss that chance?

Kenton 4 - rubbish at centre mid, got better when moved to right.

Weso 5 - Sloppy start, but got into the game and did ok.

Fryatt 4 - Got too many knocks today

Howard 7 - Won everything - shame no-one was picking up his pieces.

King 5 - Brought a bit of steadiness to the midfield.

Bruno 5 - Did ok.

It sounds like Howard will be a great player for the club, once he has someone supplying him from mid-feild.

Just an utterly dreadful performance. King looked to get us moving a bit when he came on and Howard won a few headers and looked neat and tidy in possession. Stearman and Sheehan got forward towards the end. That's literally about it. Even worse than QPR.

Henderson 4- Definitely should have saved the first goal. Poor.

Stearman 5.5- Started off as out best player but deteriorated as the game went on.

Kisnorbo 6- Pretty solid to be honest, dealt with most things safely.

McAuley 6- Ditto Kisnorbo, not sure whether he should have given away a penalty, my first reaction was that it was definite but most around me were convinced it was a great tackle and he got the ball.

Sheehan 4.5- Poor. Long ball every time he received the ball (mainly due to lack of available passes) and set pieces were not up to scratch.

Kenton 5- Also started well like Stearman defensively but he's never going to offer us anything convincing going forward

Weso 5- Couldn't get into the game, and the lack of movement affected his normal game.

Hayles 4.5- Why he started as a right winger I'll never know. Missed a sitter at the end.

Hume 5- Not one his best games to be honest.

Fryatt 4.5- Does he ever get his head up? Needs to be less greedy.

Howard 6- Constantly frustrated by his teammates who insisted on hitting long balls to him which he could do nothing productive with. I felt sorry for him.

I didn't go to this then. And I am glad. Its sounds like Howard is a good player. I feel sorry for him actually coming to us.

Hmmph.

Haven't we said that about every striker that's come into the club? Up front is clearly not where the problem lies, but I am excited by Howard.
