Darn it I think our strikeforce will come out top on the day. Humes in good form and Howard has been immense so far, and has been unlucky not to score. Should be a good contest. Are you coming?
Simi Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 Alnwick Chambers N Gotty Kisnorbo SheehanBori Oakley Clemence ZsoltHoward Hume I actually think we'll see somebody else wide right, possibly Chambers with Stearman at right back again. But now, finally we have the chance to offer our team some balance. I think we should take this chance and start to play 4-4-2 in the proper way, wingers with a bit about them, big man in the middle and a quick striker to run off him. The joy. We shall see though. Hopefully Howard will finally have the partner he's been crying out for in the games he's played for us. Somebody with a little intelligence and sense of anticipation. Fryatt and Hayles haven't shown that at all and I don't ever think they will. Come on you Blues.

syston_fox Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 For the first time in ages I can actually say that I'm looking forward to a Leicester game!!
Yaxx Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 For the first time in ages I can actually say that I'm looking forward to a Leicester game!! Yes, me too......but as luck would have it I can't actually be there today! Nevertheless, whatever the team that starts it will certainly have fcuked up Coventry's preparations. They won't know what to expect now! Then again, nor will we Nah, think positive. The future's bright!
Nick Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 DJ trained on Thursday, maybe he'll get a run out with Howard this afternoon at least for maybe the last 15 minutes? N.
Simi Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 DJ trained on Thursday, maybe he'll get a run out with Howard this afternoon at least for maybe the last 15 minutes?N. Could be a little soon I think for him. Friday wouldn't have been more than a light session so I doubt he's had enough time yet. Although I am intrigued to see how him and Howard will work together.

davieG Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Here's hoping it's a Leicester City Blue day and not A Sky Blue one! When you're smilin'....keep on smilin' The whole world smiles with you And when you're laughin'....keep on laughin' The sun comes shinin' through But when you're cryin'.... you bring on the rain So stop your frownin'....be happy again Cause when you're smilin'....keep on smilin' The whole world smiles with you (instrumental break) Oh when you're smilin'....keep on smilin' The whole world smiles with you Ah when you're laughin'....keep on laughin' The sun comes shinin' through Now when you're cryin'.... you bring on the rain So stop that sighin'....be happy again Cause when you're smilin'....just keep on smilin' And the whole world gonna smile with The great big world will smile with The whole wide world will smile with you
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 3-0 Could be the start of something (or not)
Leicester Lass Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Don't know if anyone's seen this from today's Mercury: Bori on the right might not get a start, with Barry Hayles more likely to get the nod, and it will all be about service to Howard and Iain Hume in the middle. <_< Come on you blues!
jonw88 Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Barry Hayles on the right wing..... that surely spells disaster, he's not exactly pacey, and that would be a worse decision that putting Iain Hume there. I say he plays Hume and Howard up top, and if Bori's not ready, play James Chambers or Stearman on right wing with the other at right back.
Bryn Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 I'm sure we had a Cov fan on here saying he was praying we don't have a decent right winger... looks like God answered that prayer.
Milans Foxes Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 I'm sure we had a Cov fan on here saying he was praying we don't have a decent right winger... looks like God answered that prayer. Can Oakley play on the right? If Gabor doesn't start, I would prefer to see Hume there than Hayles. But then again, I want to see Hume playing off of Howard. Maybe Fryatt right wing? Alnwick Chambers Mcauley Kisnorbo Mattock Fryatt Oakley Clemence Laczko Hume Howard Subs: Stearman Hayles Gabor N'Gotty Wesolowski

Bryn Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Reiterates that we really, really didn't need to send Gradel out.
Milans Foxes Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Why do you still want to play players out of position, Oakley/Fryatt on the right! errrr.... because Holloway has said that Gabor will probably not start and he is the only right-winger we have!! So someone has got to play there that wouldn't normally play there, hence the decision to put Fryatt/Hume/Hayles/Oakley there. Who would you put there then????? And don't say Hume because he is clearly far better up front and hates playing there.

Stevosevic Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Hume up front with Howard and Weso RM. Sorted. Please no, after Martin Allen played him there, i hope we never see it again.
sam_lcfc Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 what time does the official team news come out?! More excited about this news than any other news this week...really feel confident about today for some reason!!...Theres no real reason for the confidence but i reckon 2-1 with Howard opening his account and I fancy a centre half to head in a Clemence set-piece. Although I have just seen that Coventry have won 5 away games this season. Wins at Barnsley, Cardiff, Stoke, QPR and West Brom is quite an impressive record...plus the wins away at Man Utd and Blackburn in the cups
