The Reverend Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Is that a shock of am I hideously out of touch with African nations ability? It's no shock. Egypt were last years winners, and favourites in this match from what i read.
lildave3 Posted 22 January 2008 Posted 22 January 2008 Depends how you look at it. What, so if I look at my TV from the left, i'm supposed to go 'ooohhh I say, Egypt beating Cameroon, that's a bit of a shock' ? Sounds a bit camp for my liking,

isaidno Posted 23 January 2008 Author Posted 23 January 2008 Flippin Cameroon, let me down. Egypt scored some great goals though.
Ric Flair Posted 23 January 2008 Posted 23 January 2008 4-2 even...Very good Egypt side, and a joy to watch Zidan again. He did what he did today very regularly during his time in Denmark. Don't understand why he still hasn't had his major breakthrough... Zidan on his day is unstoppable, like a smaller version of Stan Collymore. The same flair, pace and panache. I think teams are put off him because he's so god damn greedy. But when he's on form he can take on a whole defence and score from ridiculous angles and situations. I think some bigger teams with sit up and take note after yesterday, he'd do well in the Premiership with the right surroundings.

Well he's already well-known amongst big clubs having been at Werder and now HSV. I never understood why he never got a run at Werder with Aaron Hunt being preferred to him. They ship him out to Mainz where he stars and almost kept them up single-handedly, yet he's not "good enough" for Werder. Then he goes to HSV and it looks like the same story all over again... The Danish commentator seemed to think that Zidan was best suited for a counter-attacking team, as that's where he really shines. He might well be right...
Staf Posted 23 January 2008 Posted 23 January 2008 Angola Tonight They are going to get battered against Sout Africa
Samilktray Posted 23 January 2008 Posted 23 January 2008 They are going to get battered against Sout Africa No, that is false, Angola will run rampant tonight thus leading to them running away with this tournament.
Staf Posted 23 January 2008 Posted 23 January 2008 No, that is false, Angola will run rampant tonight thus leading to them running away with this tournament. No chance South Africa to win 3-0 Come on South Africa
Samilktray Posted 23 January 2008 Posted 23 January 2008 No chance South Africa to win 3-0 Come on South Africa Im not convinced.
lildave3 Posted 23 January 2008 Posted 23 January 2008 The people who named South Africa must have been lazier than me.
Samilktray Posted 23 January 2008 Posted 23 January 2008 At least with the Central African Republic, they added a fancy word.
lildave3 Posted 23 January 2008 Posted 23 January 2008 At least with the Central African Republic, they added a fancy word. Still no need for African or Africa to be in there though. Chances are, if it's in Africa, you're likely to be African.

isaidno Posted 23 January 2008 Author Posted 23 January 2008 Tunisia 1-0 Senegal A cracking finish from Issam Jomaa, who smacks the ball home from a tight angle after running on to a teasing pass from Wissem Bekri.
Samilktray Posted 23 January 2008 Posted 23 January 2008 Angola: Lama, Airosa, Yamba Asha, Kali, Marques, Figueiredo, Macanga, Gilberto, Mendonca, Flavio, Manucho. Subs: Mario, Nuno, Delgado, Jamba, Loco, Machado, Dede, Edson, Mateus, Ze Kalanga, Love, Maurito. Qualerteee!

He always waffles on whenever i've read an article where he's been interviewed saying he will play for Real Madrid, etc one day. But that looks doubtful, but he certainly has the ability. I think he'd do well at Arsenal, but his temperament might not go down well with Wenger.
