Breitlings are nice, especially the Navitimer.

You've got to respect that because you don't like a certain thing in life, other people may do. There is a reason why people buy a £100,000 car when you could easily drive round in a £3,000 fieesta. It does the same job, the same theory applies to watches to an extent.

My favourite ever watch was a AU$10 Superman watch from Paddy's Market in Sydney. It was a beaut.

I had an £8 watch from Argos for about 4 years

Then the strap broke

I have a nice watch, probably cost around the £100 mark, tells the time, looks nice. Job done. £30,000 for a watch is ridiculous. Buying a nice car for £100,000 is totally different to buying a watch for the same price - although I do see where your coming from. You can drive the car, hear the car, feel the car, smell the car and some people may seak sexual gratification from a car. I've never heard of anyone doing the dirty with a watch.

And what is the pride in saying you have a 'fake immitation' of a good watch? The whole point of buying a watch that is expensive is mainly down to the pride of owning one.

I think fake watches are often badly made, and if you know anything about the trade then you can spot the differences very quickly.

If you collect fake wathces then I think you are an idiot, especially if you pass them off to people saying they are real.

I don't think anyone would seriously believe I could own a £5,000 watch, if I ever try to pass it off as real it's only in jest.

If you go for the better quality fakes, not the 3 for £10 efforts you find on holiday, you get a nice looking watch that keeps good time. What's wrong with that?

So it's just all about your ego really.

Of course it's an ego thing. If you get pride from wearing a nice watch, then of course its an ego thing. It's the same as anything. Cars,, jewellery whatever.

Most people dont need these things - they like the prestige that goes with owning one.

Fashionboy

Just a term I use for brands which are worn by just about everyone (G-Star, All Saints etc) that kinda brand.

Not intended to sound offensive if I did.

lol

They had some badboy Superdry jackets with hoods last year in Rackhams.

What the hell has happened to them.

They might bring 'um back out pal.

They been getting rid of all the sale shit at the minute.

Decent stuff will come back out in Rackhams soon.

I disagree with you. People that spend that kind of money on things do so because they "like to have nice things". For them, "nice things" are mega-expensive. Whilst some might get "sexual gratification" from a car, and I won't deny that some freaks are like that, for a lot of the people who spend a fortune on items are doing so because they have very low self esteem, because they either feel that they deserve it or it makes them feel good about themselves.

I should be a psychologist.
