I know it's a tad sad but I felt a tinge of pride when they were reporting form the Highcross on Central news last night. Maybe it's because I don't live in Leicester anymore and I get dead proud whenever Leicester is mentioned in a good way plus I'm forever defending my home town to Lincolnshire folk, I don't know, perhaps just sad then. It looked fantastic though on the telly and I really must make some time to go into Leicester town and have a look when all the fuss has died down.

It ain't sad in my opinion! i'm quite the same and i'm only Loughborough way, i always love it when Leicester is put in good light and this is something our city has been wanting for sometime to just up market it abit and put it abit on level par with other cities in terms of attractions, shopping centers, etc!

Now all we need is guy worth 550 billion to buy out Leicester City and the whole dream will be complete! (oh ok maybe not quite)

Went to the opening ceremony. Plenty of free champagne and caviar being doled out.

I even got chatted up! - mind you it was by a sky blue, no wonder she looked at me like I was Brad Pitt... lol

The Cinema de Lux more than lives up to its name. No doubt the usual suspects will check it out and then whinge about the "lack of atmosphere"

As a member of the public or on a freebie as a Councillor?

I think it's corking. The area with the restaurants looks good (even though some of them aren't open yet), and it could be an amazing area of an evening. I really hope it works.

Seeing as i started this post on moaning about what it looked like, i will retract that now as i went into there for the first time yesterday and it does look pretty amazing, especially the end where Next and John Lewis is. Took ages to get through there though with the amount of people that was in there. But yeah does look pretty awesome there now. Especially like the tiny shop near the end where those pictures are. Very expensive little place but very cool.

A word of advice about parking in the new John Lewis car park - don't.

What would you suggest people do in there?:whistle:

Went with the Mrs yesterday and I was very impressed, finally Leicester has a shopping centre to be proud of.

The G-star shop was an instant favourite, could spend vast amounts of silly money there. When the restaurants round the back are completed it will be brilliant. Loving 'All things chocolate' shop too

Going in a minute, on my owwwwwwnnnn.

I did that, it's a bit better because you don't have to get dragged into the shops you don't give a shit about

I aprked in their abserloutely fine on both saturday evening and sunday. plenty of spaces and the red and green lights prevent you from losing a sense of direction. Much better than painted arrows.

Thought it was a brilliant place, Hugo Boss, John Lewis and Cruise were the highlights. lLoking forward to carluccio's opening too.

Get outta here with that shit.

I was only impressed with the Apple shop.

Up until they told me my NUS card isnt valid in there unless its an actual Apple product.
